Congressman Adam Schiff is too timid to overturn the Citizens United decision

Beginning January, 2013 it is almost certain that, because of congressional redistricting, if you live in West Hollywood, in Los Angeles east of Beverly Hills, north of Melrose, west of the 5 Freeway, south of the 134, or anywhere in Glendale or Burbank, you will live in the new Congressional District 28 and be represented by Congressman Adam Schiff. Occupy Democracy - Pasadena members have been lobbying the Congressman to sign HJR90, the House resolution to overturn the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court two years ago that declared corporations to be people and to have the free speech right to contribute unlimited amounts to election super-pacs. We need to level the playing field for fair and honest debates on the major issues of our time, uncorrupted by big money, but he is still "on the fence." Congressman Schiff understands the corrupting nature of Citizens United. He says the right things. But to date he has refused to sign or co-sponsor HJR 90 which would begin a process to overturn Citizens United by Constitutional Amendment. It is not enough to decry corporate influence and work to pass city council resolutions. If Citizens United is to be overturned by Constitutional Amendment, first our federal legislators and then our state representatives MUST ACT. Please call Adam Schiffs office in Pasadena. Tell him you are aware that he will be running for office where you live in both the June primary and in the November election. Then let him know how important it is to you that he co-sponsor a House Resolution to overturn Citizens United.
