Despite stringent implementation of land reform schemes in the past three decades, the State of West Bengal still has a large number of landless and homestead less families. The scheme seeks active linkage and convergence with important and popular developmental schemes of the State and Central governments meant for rural households. It seeks to address all rural families that are completely homestead less and landless by providing each family a maximum of 3 kathas of land suitable for house construction and homegarden.
