Historically, crochet is a little mysterious. Researchers continue to debate whether crochet is a relatively recent development or whether the craft began much earlier in history. Some believe that crochet evolved from traditional practices in countries such as Arabia, South America or China, but there is evidence of artifacts to show the craft was in existence before its heyday in Europe during the 1800’s.
