UIDELINES FOR OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE In the Central Florida region, the legal age for marriage is 18 years old. Those who are 16–17 must have parental consent. Florida has a required three-day waiting period (which can be waived upon completion of a premarit al course) and asks that both the bride and groom present a valid photo ID and a Social Security card to obtain the marriage license, which is valid for 60 days.
