Set to take on polar (Japanese for “deep sea”) has emerged from the shed for the first time. The yacht is designed by Philippe Briand’s Vitruvius Yachts design studio and features a gyro stabilisation system that Feadship estimates to be the largest built to date. Scheduled to be handed over to her owner later this year, is equipped with an Ice Class hull, advanced sonar system for exploring the ocean floor and a 7.2-tonne submarine. Described as “self-sufficient and fuel-efficient” by the yard, the boat features a crane that will launch both the submarine and tender.
