What business does a 60-year-old woman with no experience of overlanding have driving through West Africa, all on her own, in a two-wheel-drive van? My answer? A woman’s place is wherever she wants it to be!
I was born in Zimbabwe and moved to South Africa in my early twenties. I lived there from 1981 to 1997, when I left for the United Kingdom. My ex-husband’s work meant that I later moved to Portugal, then Luxembourg, and finally to Spain for the last 18 months of my time in Europe.
