70-year-old woman named Maha Sena, and her 48-year-old relative, Boonseng Singhern, living in northeast Thailand were arrested for. “Then, they wouldn’t let me out on bail. I ask for justice for all involved.” Sena shared that she boils cannabis leaves and drinks them in a tea to treat her ailments. Thailand legalized medical cannabis in 2018, and as of Feb. 8, 2022, the government took a positive step forward toward decriminalization by removing cannabis from its list of controlled substances. However, an report shared that it would be 120 days before it took effect, which didn’t officially happen until June.
