About this audiobook

Lew Fonesca is a Sarasota part-time process server still mourning his dead wife and trying to get through life without any complications. But his life is full of them. His shrink wants him to dump his grief so he can have more of a life; a pretty social worker who has helped him in the past wants to "deepen" their friendship; and his big heart prevents him from saying no to people who need his help. A distraught father comes to Lew to track down his wife and two kids, whom Lew suspects ran off with the man's best friend. When people start showing up dead, Lew knows he's in way over his head - and this time he may not be able to make it come out okay.

Kaminsky's third book in the Fonesca series based in Sarasota FL. Alongside the mystery story, are entertaining bits about SRQ geography and issues.

Midnight Pass. Stuart M. Kaminsky. 2003. This is the second Lew Fonesca novel I have read. Jim loves this type of book-250 pages, first person, private eye, odd sidekicks, easy, but suspenseful read-and I do too.Fonesca is a process server, a finder of lost people, as he says. After his wife, a lawyer with the DA in St. Louis, was murdered, he got in his car and drove until he reached Sarasota. He likes to keep busy helping people so he doesn’t have to think of his own loneliness. In this novel he helps a local minister/city councilman get the votes to save a costal area from development and also locates the missing wife who ran away with her two children
