About this audiobook

The epic made simple. The miracle in the mundane.

One day, while browsing an antique store in Helena, Montana, photographer Tyler Knott Gregson stumbled upon a vintage Remington typewriter for sale. Standing up and using a page from a broken book he was buying for $2, he typed a poem without thinking, without planning, and without the ability to revise anything.

He fell in love.

Three years and almost one thousand poems later, Tyler is now known as the creator of the Typewriter Series: a striking collection of poems typed onto found scraps of paper or created via blackout method. Chasers of the Light features some of his most insightful and beautifully worded pieces of work-poems that illuminate grand gestures and small glimpses, poems that celebrate the beauty of a life spent chasing the light.

I follow Tyler on Tumblr and I love his work. This book is gorgeous. The words are simple and clear. He is able to speak to you in quiet ways that a lot of poets over look. Everyone should read his work.

I read very little poetry, but I love poems by Tyler Gregson. He touches my heart, makes me think and makes me feel. Such beautiful use of words, and so accessible.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don't usually read books of poetry. I have myself pigeon-holed as a fiction girl, but now I'm wondering what I've missed. I intended to read a poem or two per day from this book. I wanted to savor it over time. It did not work out that way. I found myself reading one and then thinking, "just one more," which then progressed to, "just one more" and "just one more" and... you get the picture. Before I knew it, I had devoured the thing in 2 days. At first I thought, "What a lovely coincidence that I read this now. I really needed so many of these poems." But, then, I realized it's not a coincidence; I could have read this book at any time and the poems would have been "just what I needed." Most of them are about love. They burst with intensity and fullness. There's also a sense of hope and strength and perseverance that weaves throughout. The author is obviously a sensitive guy and we sensitive people need lots of hope and strength and perseverance to make it in the world. I've already started following him on Facebook so I can get a regular fix of his thoughts and poems. I can't get enough.
