About this audiobook

Late one night in a dingy Los Angeles club, Nate and Cameron meet and discover they have much more in common than their love of an obscure indie band. But when Nate learns that Cameron is the heir to a soul-sucking record label-the very one that destroyed his father's life-he runs away as fast as he can. The only evidence of their brief but intense connection is the blurry photo Cameron snaps of Nate's Sharpied Chuck Taylors.

When Cameron's sister Tess-a famous model and socialite-posts the photo on Instagram for her legions of fans, the internet just about breaks with the news of this modern fairy tale. "Anyone know the owner of these shoes?" she writes. "My Prince Charming brother is looking for his Cinderfella!" But while the viral sensation begins to bring the pair back together, their own demons and pasts might get in the way of any happily ever afters…

Bizarre to me that they chose the narrator for cameron but then spoke a lot about the character having a voice that sounds like he’d sing R&B. Threw me off everytime.
Easy to listen to and entertaining enough.

While the storyline was fairly typical, the characters were rhythmically enchanting and do not lack depth. I hope to read more books from this author and I wouldn't mind listening to the steady cadence of the readers that played the main characters in this book, either. The story was rich with palpable -yet relatable- emotion. The characters were easy to imagine and likeable in their own ways, to boot. This book will take you away -for a short while-, to a different life.

This was one of those books that I just wanted to listen to after I started. I enjoyed it a lot. The story the characters the story behind the characters.
I like that the relationship between Nate and Cameron wasn’t forced and at first Nate wanted nothing to do with cam.
    It was amazing

I'm giving 5 starts for the book. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I do have three minor issues tho. First, I think the title needs rethinking. Second, I don't like the narrator for Cameron. Third, the cover could have portrayed the music theme of the book.

Mix of Cinderella and Romeo and juliet, but gay.
Also has positive depictions of psychosis, which I personally love seeing as someone with sza bp2.

Great book! I have seen a lot of comments saying the voice acting was bad but I like it and I feel like it fit the characters. I highly recommend reading this book.

The only negative critique I would give this audiobook is that the voice actors could probably have collaborated a little more to create the characters. The way each actor played Nate and Cam was pretty cool but they both played each character so differently that it was something that took me out of the story a bit. Not just the sound of their voices, even the way they pronounced some words was different and very noticeable.

As for the book, it was a pretty good story with a very interesting premise. The story is entertaining and has been a nice way to pass time while working. I love that at no point in the story were the main characters harassed or bullied for being gay. I love that it’s just a normal thing in this story. Highly recommended for young LGBTQ+ readers and people who enjoy queer stories that aren’t tragic or depressing.

It was good, a little insta-loveish but I couldn’t resist the way they talked about music and the connection it created between them. Side characters don’t have as much development as I would have liked but still I liked it a lot. The main characters were good.

diverse teen romance - 17 y.o. boy meets 18 y.o. boy in modern L.A. music scene; a fun, sweet story with smart, mature characters. Also deals with mental health issues (father who committed suicide turns out to have had something like schizophrenia). Parental notes: contains underage drinking, sexual situations (though not explicit sex), and very mild swears (hell).

I had high hopes for this book but it was disappointing. Really boring
