About this audiobook
A Movement Seeks to Redefine Christianity. Some Think that It Is a Much-Needed Progressive Reformation. Others Believe that It Is an Attack on Historic Christianity.
Alisa Childers never thought she would question her Christian faith. She was raised in a Christian home, where she had seen her mom and dad feed the hungry, clothe the homeless, and love the outcast. She had witnessed God at work and then had dedicated her own life to leading worship, as part of the popular Christian band ZOEgirl. All that was deeply challenged when she met a progressive pastor, who called himself a hopeful agnostic.
Another Gospel? describes the intellectual journey Alisa took over several years as she wrestled with a series of questions that struck at the core of the Christian faith. After everything she had ever believed about God, Jesus, and the Bible had been picked apart, she found herself at the brink of despair . . . until God rescued her, helping her to rebuild her faith, one solid brick at a time.
In a culture of endless questions, you need solid answers. If you or someone you love has encountered the ideas of progressive Christianity and aren’t sure how to respond, Alisa’s journey will show you how to determine―and rest in―what’s unmistakably true.

This book has encouraged me to want to dive deeper into apologetics and understand how to explain to others why I believe what I believe about God and the Bible. I love her voice and writing.
I already loved her podcast, and this lets me see more of her journey to it. I also love her references to other apologist. I love digging more into these topics.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book introduces you to the false religion of "progressive christianity" and helps you not to be deceived. Recommended readng list at the end is very helpful.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a MUST read for every serious Christian. Progressive Christianity is dangerous , heretical and can be clearly refuted. Read this book to get a better understanding for yourself so you can notice red flags and also speak gently and confidently to others on the topic.
Bravo Alisa Childers ! You did it. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is one of the most concise, page turning books on apologetics that I have ever listened to. I guess that means I wasn't really turning the pages. Alisa has such a familiarity about her and a grasp of her subject matter that is comfortable, understandable, concise, and has a great talent for putting it all on paper in a way that makes so much sense. I really hope that this is read by many, as I truly believe that it answers so many questions in such an understandable and relatable way that it will put many people at ease with themselves, in their identities in Christ and also if they have questions and are seeking - I think it's going to bring people to Him. A really wonderful book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Outstanding! The author brings her experience with the process of deconstructing her Christian faith when faced with the questions the progressive Christianity asks but can’t answer. Thorough research, easy to listen language, and deep insights make me want to buy a hard copy and re-read it and study it further. Great book for someone who is starting their own reconstruction of faith.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent resource. One of the best places to start apologetics reading for a beginner. The narrative style makes consumption quite easy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I truly loved every second of this book & Alyssa's raw, but powerful story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved it. Well written and very relatelable to Alisa's struggles and wrestlings
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thank you for confirming what I already knew, but you have opened my eyes to the dangers of progressive Christianity, it was jaw dropping in parts ( how people are twisting the Bible to suit their warped way of thinking)
It is well written and contains sound, practical advice. I look forward to reading any future books. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing,Amazing, Amazing!. Really helps secure foundations in Christianity.
It is good to have good reasons and evidence to back up our faith. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Perhaps I’m being too hard on Childers - since she presented so much evidence in some areas and not much in others but wants to be taken seriously, I’m not a huge fan.
She went into amazing detail regarding the typical apologetic issues regarding Christianity and the logical arguments.
But when it came to presenting progressive Christianity, CRT, and items she disagreed with, her handling of the information was surface level with broad generalizations and stereotypes.
CRT in particular she referenced in the pop/woke culture boogeyman kind of way that the GOP is pushing and did ZERO work to actually look at what critical race theory or critical theory is in the academic world. That kind of a lack of research in her research and writing is disappointing and lowers the overall credibility of the rest of the book. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is basically the contemporary version of Machen’s classic *Christianity and Liberalism* (which is to pay it the highest of compliments). Meticulously-researched and engagingly-written, Childers shares honestly about her personal experience of having her faith challenged as she offers a robust (and
approachable) defense of historic Christianity. This audiobook version is read by the author. The audio quality is clear, and she reads with both warmth and conviction (and some singing to boot!). Highly recommended! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely incredible. I ordered a paper copy to reference. Wow wow wow wow wow!!! Telling EVERYONE I know about this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is well-written and it’s points are thought through and meaningful. She gives points from both sides and is respectful in her handling of the other side. Personally, I went through many of the same struggles in my own faith and found myself on the other side loving Christ and the Bible even more than before, as she did. This book is a great resource for anyone who has questions about the relevance of scripture in the modern world. Great book! Will definitely recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I honestly think this is best book around at the moment!!! I think EVERYONE should read it!!! I enjoyed this audio version so much that I just ordered it in paperback so that I could underline and use as a reference!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing. She sings in her audiobook and it's so good! If you liked this book, you will like her podcast too!
