About this ebook

"Animal Farm" is an allegorical novella by George Orwell published in England in 1945. According to Orwell, the book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin era before World War II. Orwell, a democratic socialist, was a critic of Joseph Stalin and hostile to Moscow-directed Stalinism, especially after his experiences with the NKVD, and what he saw of the results of the influence of Communist policy ("ceaseless arrests, censored newspapers, prowling hordes of armed police" – "Communism is now a counter-revolutionary force"), during the Spanish Civil War. In a letter to Yvonne Davet, Orwell described Animal Farm as his novel "contre Stalin". Includes a new introduction.

Capitalism versus socialism versus communism. No political system is perfect because Man is always corruptible the pigs represented people who liked the Marxist ideal of egalitarianism. But in the end they were corrupted as well.

Great book, but I would recommend looking ups nd researching about it's hidden meaning because this book is a great allegory. Kind of sad and disturbing so it really just depends on what you enjoy reading.

    -enjoy :)

Absolutely fantastic story, hard work without a mind/brain is of no use. Not finding words to express my praise for the story.

    Deep. Visceral. Real.
Animal Farm by George Orwell indeed truly and correctly represents the inevitable (speculated) evolution of even benign socialism to Communism, which was duly observed in Stalin's Russia.
Where pigs come to rule the farm, the farm becomes yet another place of slavery for the animals.

I found this book AMAZING, and very believably real to the extent of its representation of human - and animal - emotions, inter mingling and drama, while reflecting terrible political structures, powerplays and control.

    RECOMMENDED MUST READ.

I can't believe it went from a quirky story of animals' rebellion, to such a deep dive into how people and societies function.
