About this ebook

This book is a follow-up to my previous book called “Restless Legs Syndrome: Medication–induced Obsessive Behavior”. That book describes, through my personal experience, the potential obsessive behavior side effects from taking dopamine agonist medications like, in my case, Mirapex (generic name Pramipexole). The previous book also describes, again through my personal experience, how to get off the medications and how to survive the consequences of the obsessive behaviors. In this book I deal with managing Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) symptoms without medication. Since getting off Mirapex, six months ago, I have made a relentless and determined study of everything that I could find (books, articles, blogs etc.) that relate to managing RLS symptoms without taking medications. I have tried so many different things that, to be perfectly honest, I cannot remember them all. But what is most interesting is that my RLS symptoms are significantly less now than the way they were after I got off the Mirapex, and have been getting progressively better over the last six months. This is not a result of weaning off the medication because my symptoms are also significantly less than they were eight years ago before are starting taking the medication.
This book is written in the same style as the previous one. I will describe, through my personal experience, the things that I have been doing (changes in diet, lifestyle, sleeping habits, stress management etc.) that have led to my significantly improved RLS condition. I will tell you right now that I have no “Silver Bullet” solution to offer you, and I cannot pin-point any particular activity (or change in activity) that has made the difference. But what I can tell you for sure is that “collectively” all of the things that I have been doing have worked for me, and I sincerely hope that passing my experience on to you will help you also.
