About this ebook
The desires of a high priest.
Alaric, Poseidon’s High Priest, has made a vow to Quinn, the woman he loves and the leader of the Resistance: to save her friend Jack before his last bit of humanity has been drained. Should Alaric succeed, there’s one intimate danger: he may lose Quinn to the love of the man whose life he saved. But damn Atlantis to the nine hells, he’s willing to put Quinn’s wishes first, regardless of the consequences.
The warning of a threat reborn.
The final jewel of Poseidon’s trident has turned up in the hands of mysterious Ptolemy Reborn, who claims to be descended from Atlantean royalty. He’s about to reveal to the world that Atlantis is real, positioning himself as king. But this magical terrorist is bent on chaos. The only warrior who can stop him is following his own path, driven by the even more powerful force of love. Atlantean powers over the sea could prove just as cataclysmic—for Quinn’s love, Alaric might drown the entire world.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was well worth the wait! This one sets the series in the upper echelons of must read. Everything we think Alaric is capable of comes to past. He is magnificent in his rage, soulful in his longings and contrary to his own mind a true warrior of Poseidon to his core. His balance/unbalance and rock in the world gone made is Quinn, the rebel leader who has stolen his heart.
More to come... - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It is hard to give this 3 stars because it slightly better than that but not a 4 star. I liked it, and at some parts, I really liked it. There were parts that had me laughing and it was fun to see all the past characters. The problem is that at some parts I was rolling my eyes in irritation. With the amount of irritation, I just couldn't bring myself to up the stars to 4.
Quinn and Alaric have been fighting their attraction to one another for the last 7 books and this is them finally coming together. The plot didn't make sense at one point with the baddie calling out Quinn. There was never any good explanation for this other than her being the leader of the resistance. If Anubisa had put him up to it, I would've understood better. Still, getting over the coincidence of this, it still had some big plot holes. Then on top of that the position Quinn puts herself in, was just stupid. and this doesn't happen just once. She goes right to the demon kin that already bested Alaric and Ven together in one encounter. Then later she goes to him and Alaric attacks right when he grabs her and teleports, this was a little much since Alaric would've never let her near enough before he could strike. Then the ending was drawn out and over the top during the battle scene. These three scenes, even a couple hours after finishing, leave me a little irritated.
I know that there had to be a plot with some conflict but I would've hoped that it was with only Anubisa and not with a new baddie plus Anubisa. And then she could have had a subplot with Jack and the other characters that was more drawn out and not forced quickly at the end. I didn't dislike the book, I just only liked it and mainly for Alaric and Quinn getting together This also seem quite near the end and piled on all at once . And I liked revisiting all the other, as brief as it is.
If you are a fan of the series, it is worth reading. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Heart of Atlantis is the book that all fans of Alyssa Day’s Warriors of Poseidon series have been waiting for -- the story of Alaric, high priest of Atlantis and Quinn, leader of the rebel resistance. Alaric and Quinn have had an undeniable and overpowering attraction since the beginning of the series. Quinn feels she isn’t deserving of Alaric because of the things she’s done in the name of the resistance and of pure survival. Alaric took a vow of celibacy when he became a high priest, and breaking the vow may result in him losing his magic just when the Atlanteans need him the most. There is an impostor to the throne who not only wants to take over Atlantis, but Quinn as well. Alaric will need all of his magic to keep Atlantis safe and attempt to defeat this new threat. But what of the new news that there was once a high priest who “soul melded” with his true love and it increased his powers to a magnitude not seen since? Can Alaric take the chance that turning his back on his vow would actually be the best thing for his people? This book brought back everyone from the previous books and short stories, and was a fitting end to a great story arch. It is the last full length novel in the Warriors of Poseidon series (unless maybe we’ll get some books set in the future when young Prince Aidan is grown???), and I am sad to see it end. Ms. Day promises a short story or two to wrap up some loose ends, and a non-Atlantean character is actually getting a spin off series. I love her writing, and look forward to anything she has coming out in the future. If you like paranormal romance I highly recommend this series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I was squealing with delight when I finally got this book in my hands! This is the one story we have been building up to – Quinn and Alaric’s story. This is the couple that cannot be together because of Alaric being a High Priest of Poseidon and his vow of celibacy. Now new information has come out that says that the High Priest from ancient times was in fact married and had even more power because of it. So do Alaric and Quinn take the chance and risk it all right when everyone needs them? While I did enjoy the plot and of course the characters, there were several times when I wanted the fighting and the drama just to end so Quinn and Alaric could be together. I also feel that the situation with Jack was a bit rushed and he didn’t have the conclusion I had hoped he would receive. It was neat that all the warriors were reunited for the final battle. So while this was not my favorite book in the series it was one that I did adore and was thrilled to be able to read!
