The short story "Jailbreak," co-written by veteran writer Harry Shannon and newcomer Steven W. Booth, is the first chapter of a new horror novel. It is a briskly paced weird-western-zombie-apocalypse tale. Their new novel, also starring Sheriff Penny Miller, is tenatively entitled "The Hungry."
