After spending most of my life in sales and customer service I've finally written a book. I've wanted to write a book for many years. Starting out with a reference book seemed like a great place to begin. Moving up north away from the fast pace of city life gave me some time to think, relax and put together a valuable but condensed reference guide to help all women that live alone.

If you have already purchased a home, hopefully you have already addressed many concerns to make your day to day life comfortable and home ownership an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I will also address some issues with apartment life as well.

Gated Community: First you may consider living in a gated community. Although this can give a false sense of security, there are some things to consider. Many gated communities are geared towards the elderly and retired but there are some apartments and condos that are just mainly for privacy and security. In any case, they are usually expensive due to the amenities provided. But, they can literally have a gate or a guard at the gate. Some are almost a community within a community. Garage Access: You may want to consider a home with a garage so you can pull right in, close the garage door by remote and then enter the house through the garage. This is great when you have a trunk full of groceries or children to take out of car seats, etc.

Apartment Laundry Rooms: In apartment buildings the laundry room can seem like
