      Thought provoking. Postulates that the ear lobe, an anatomical feature unique to humans, evolved solely as a place to display status marker e.g. Ear rings.

      Interesting idea but untestable and therefore what in evolutionary theory we call a "Just so story" after the Rudyard Kipling collection of creation legends from India. Might be true, might not but we'll never know for sure.

      Still an interesting idea.
