About this ebook

Almost half of all marriages end in divorce, and yet we seem so unprepared to deal with the pain and anxiety that a relationship break up brings. This pocket guide to surviving separation and divorce is a road map of sorts, to help you navigate those treacherous waters. It offers guidance on healing your mind, body and spirit through information and simple practical activities. It focuses on progressing through grief and loss, and coming out the other end a stronger and more capable version of yourself. Breaking up is truly a full time job!

    Summary

Breaking Up: It’s a full time job!

A pocket guide to surviving separation and divorce

    Foreword

Chances are, if you are reading this book, you are going through or have gone through a relationship break up. Perhaps you are experiencing or have endured a separation or divorce. Crap, isn’t it? And not just for the obvious reasons of the stress associated with dealing with someone you once cared about, but now possibly wouldn’t spit on if they were on fire. There is so much more to it and it is hard work. Breaking up is a full time job!

This book arose out of my personal journey and lessons learnt along the way. New friends taught me much about the process, and how to survive. I too hope I have helped others, and can continue to help, through sharing these learnings. I hope this book brings a smile to your face, a knowing nod, and a little peace to your heart. Consider it a road map with options, guidance, and a little direction. It is written for women, but men may also find it insightful, useful, or at least entertaining? The examples relate to life in Australia. You may need to do a little research to identify relevant Government agencies and support services in your own country.

Here’s to today, because we have made it this far. Here’s to tomorrow, and hoping it is an even brighter day.

    Chapter 1

    What are the odds?
