There was once a very large old castle—it was so old that the castle was abandoned. There were only two little rooms that Geoffrey, his wife and baby could live in. It was here that Geoffrey setup up his blacksmith business.
He was too poor to live in a nice house, and no one asked for any rent for the rooms because all the royal families were dead and gone many years ago.
There Geoffrey hammered his iron and did all the work which came his way.
There was not much work because most of the work went to the mayor of the town, who was also a blacksmith. He received most of the business and had twelve workers all hammering like woodpeckers.
Geoffrey struggled making money and received a few odd jobs from travelers and strangers who did not know that the mayor was also a blacksmith.
His two rooms were warm and weather-tight, but not very large. But there was a secret dungeon underneath his room. There were two sets of steps and on one side where the steps weren't broken was coal to heat up the rooms and to hammer whatever work he could get.
