About this ebook

Two young pregnant women flee from Vienna to a remote Czechoslovakian mountain village to escape from the Nazis in 1938. Their babies, Peter and Rudi, are brought up as brothers until they are fourteen, after which, Peter goes to live in England. Rudi soon follows and both complete their education there. Their outstanding competence in foreign languages, arising from their upbringing and education, brings them to the attention of the Secret Services and both are recruited. In the meantime they both become involved with a girl they know and, when she finds she’s pregnant, each believes the other to be the one responsible. When the emotional triangle explodes they vow never to see each other again.
For years they go their separate ways but with both working in the same shadowy world, it’s inevitable that, sooner or later, their paths will cross. In the aftermath of an attempted royal assassination during which they find themselves face to face again, they rediscover their friendship and the young man who is the son of one of them
