001-Saraswathi Sthuthi
001-A Tribute to Goddess Saraswathi
Om Saraswathi !
The knowledgeable one
who bestows blessings;
your benediction is absolute.
Adorned in white, playing the Veena,
you reside in the world of music.
You generate melody, rhythm, and literacy.
You are the guardian of scriptures.
I do not aspire to be great
nor am I capable of being a scholar.
Whatever I have received
is gifted by your grace alone.
You are power, wisdom,
and benevolence.
You are all in all.
You are the life, the breath,
and the inspiration for us all.

002-Om
002-Om
Om is the chaste sound of divinity;
the ultimate chant and prayer.
It reverberates with all that is
holy and Godly.
The elements are expressions
of its power.
It is what the creation
breathes in faith and devotion.
It is the life of veracity and belief.

003-Shri Ram Vandana
003-Shri Rama
One spins in circles of anxiety
in search of Lord Rama,
forgetting that He dwells in
one’s own heart.
There is no need for rigours
that sap one’s energy.
Just chanting Rama’s name
with devotion will pave the
path to salvation.

004-Bas Ek Naam
004-The One and the Only
Meditate upon God,
light the lamp of devotion,
and forget yourself.
Cremate your conceit and vanity.
Chant God’s name.
Whether you recite Rama or Krishna,
Shiva or Narayana, it does not matter
because the names may be numerous
and the revered forms may be many
But there is
ONE and ONLY ONE GOD.

005-The Sunset Hour
If you do not wake up to the
illusory nature of this world now,
in the evening of your life,
when are you going to do so?
Do not fear the sunset of life
for it is inevitable.
Do not let your spirit sag
till it has to.
Nothing is over till it is over.
Abandon the aimless path of temptation,
and surrender yourself to God.

006-Jeevan Ka Moolya
006-The Gift
Life is a treasure gifted to you by God.
Do not fritter it away. This is pure gold.
Do not melt it away in sinful flames.
As you sow so shall you reap
love will beget love
pain will beget pain.
How long can you sing the song of
This is mine
, and
That is mine
?
You are, after all, a guest on earth.
When you depart, you will leave
everything behind.

007-Flight of the Heart
With wings on my heart and
dreams in my eyes,
I am flying free in the open air
I am dancing on the waves and
on the mountains.
I can hear the lakes and
the rivers chirp in cheer
the earth is my courtyard;
the sky is my mirror
I am oblivious to all except
this feeling that engulfs me.
The rainbow blossoms into colourful flowers
where sky meets the earth
Shri Krishna, I want to lose myself and
be immersed in your love
I am blessed in my devotion to you.
Your mercy has released me
from the shackles of physical illusions.

008-Mun Mohana
008-Krishna’s Charm
Kaanha is one of Krishna’s many names
Kaanha, your captivating image
enters the heart through the eyes
and pervades the spirit.
The way you dance in the gardens,
play with colours, and
tease the girls with a sweet smile
is irresistible.
You are our friend and you are our guard.
You are the one who killed the evil Kamsa.
O beautiful Krishna, you are the beginning
and end of all our hopes.

009-The Flute Divine
Shri Krishna, your flute is the fountainhead
of all that is musical
your tune casts a spell over the whole world
your radiance radiates the rays of a million suns
the peacock feather adorns your hair.
Your beauty is exhilarating
you are the ocean of sweet sounds
and magnificence in which the world
bathes with the joy of love
you are the magician and the flute is your wand.
In the sunset hour, an angel begins to
strum the harp and the shy sky
blushes at the romantic overture
a love sick bird borrows the score from the flute and sings
and, in the forest, a peacock dances animatedly.
Krishna’s flute has played its role sincerely,
be it in HIS romance with Radha,
in HIS friendship with Sudama,
in the strength of Arjuna, or
in the devotion of Meera.
HIS flute has given us the tradition of love
the holy river Ganges flows
from her source Gangotri
and
the holy stream of love flows
from its source Shri Krishna’s flute
.

010-Meera
When and where Krishna took possession of
her heart, she could not say she lost interest
in the luxuries of her royal life and became
a devotee in love who chanted Krishna’s name
constantly she sailed in the boat of platonic love.
She crossed the river of traditions
she had never seen him but
his image swam in her eyes
her love was devoid of any expectations
Krishna was breath of hers and
every breath of hers was her faith in him.
Oblivious to her surroundings,
she sang for him and with bells on her feet,
danced to the rhythm of her ardour
each song of hers was in his praise.
She had surrendered herself totally to his worship
she was Meera, the ultimate definition of devotion
she was the personification of true asceticism,
one who abdicated the worldly for the Godly.

011-The Wrong Calculation
Shri Krishna sent a message to the whole humanity
through his preaching of Bhagwad Gita
to Arjuna.
"You have control only over your actions,
never over their results."
Nevertheless, there is no dearth of people
who calculate their profits even before they invest any effort.
They put a price on everything
and turn every interaction into a trade.
Their mental map is a sketch of business-minded attitude.
Compelled by greed, they weave money-making dreams
about everything, be it material or metaphysical.
So much so that even their emotions have a financial tag.
In the temple, they measure the extent of blessings
in terms of the offerings made.
Is God’s grace dependent on man-made influence?
There is sense in making a donation for the running
of a religious establishment.
But to shop for boons is meaningless.
There are no shortcuts to being blessed.
There are no parallels in wealth for devotion
and earnest endeavour.
Do not evaluate that which is invaluable.
It is impossible to weigh love for God on the scales of riches.
Do what you must.
Do not set your sight on the horizon.
Identify the truth and accept your destiny.
Why are you concerned about gains and losses?
Your efforts will bear fruit in the justice granted by your MAKER.

012(1)-Ragas-Day and Night
At dawn, the doors of the temple open to the sound of BHAIRAV
while NATBHAIRAV and BHATIYAR are immersed in prayer.
The sunray sketches colourful patterns on the streets
and the buds are blossoming to the melody of GUNKALI.
In a tearful surrender at the feet of the Lord,
the touching tones of TODI pluck at the strings of one’s heart.
As the morning wears off,
SARANG spreads its sweetness around.
In the afternoon, among the key players are PATDEEP
and MULTANI.
When the village belle prepares a salver
to welcome the evening hours,
