Dagmar Oktabcova

Born in Prague, Czech Republic, I escaped my home country with my parents and my brother in 1969, one year after the communist invasion. Traveling different parts of the world my journey finally took me to Colorado where I met my twin flame in 2005. The intensity of our meeting prompted me to seek out a shaman with whom I worked for eight months. During this time I started writing the book "Meeting My Twin Flame". I am proud to say that I finally e-published my book in 2013, eight years later. It has been a long and profound journey of spiritual awakening and healing to get where I am today. Besides being a spiritual healer I am also a clairvoyant reader. I primarily work with people to help give them insight into their situations and help them make permanent positive changes on the soul level. Some of my work involves the healing of past traumas and integration of past unresolved experiences as well as the changing of beliefs that no longer serve us. We manifest our reality with our spiritual energy. When we find ourselves in situations we don't like, it's time to look at the spiritual energy with which we create them. My healing sessions are based on my real-world experience and are spiritually guided and always with the clients highest good in mind. The only way we'll change the world is by changing ourselves.

    What is Spiritual Healing

    About the Author

    Acknowledgements

First and foremost, I wish to acknowledge and thank my twin flame. There wouldn’t be a book without him. He ultimately helped me remember who I am.

I would like to thank Eagle Starblanket with whom I worked for eight months, who helped me understand the spiritual significance of what was happening to me and provided me the guidance I needed while I was struck with fear and confusion. I experienced my first spiritual healings with Eagle Starblanket. He also gave me the understanding I needed to reconnect with my own abilities and wisdom of the spiritual realm.

My utmost gratitude to my good friends Lynn Dimmick and Patty Udy who supported me throughout my journey. I couldn’t have done it without them. In fond memory of my good friend’s son who insisted that I meet his mother, I fully recognize the significance of his deed. Many thanks!

Last but not least I would like to acknowledge all the people who participated in my journey in some way whom I have not mentioned specifically. Their contribution was no less significant. Many thanks to everyone!

    Preface

What I’m about to tell you is a true story. It is the account of my personal journey of spiritual awakening and self-discovery. My hope is to inspire you to view your life in a different light. For to view your life as an epic story, a piece of art, is to recognize the play of the universe in it and uncover its significance. You be the judge. A love story or a nightmare? Is it myth at work, or are we creating the story of our lives?

Given the true nature of this tale and out of respect for everyone’s privacy and their personal journey, fictitious names for people and places have been utilized and in some cases characters have been altered.

Prior to my experience of meeting my twin flame, I hadn’t even heard of the term twin flame, nor had I given much consideration to soul mates or past lives. Meeting my twin flame was an awakening experience for me, a much needed one I suppose. I was as asleep as Sleeping Beauty herself and mostly disconnected from the spiritual world. The experience with my twin flame further propelled me into reconnecting with my spiritual healing abilities and the vast knowledge of the spiritual realm. I went on to not only heal myself but also help others heal. Since then I have helped many people.

For those of you, who are as unfamiliar with the term twin flame as I was and have heard of soul mates, but are uncertain of the true meaning, let me explain. Soul mates are people or souls we have come to know in other lifetimes. Usually we travel from lifetime to lifetime in soul groups or soul families, playing different roles for each other. Most of us have more than one soul mate. A soul mate can be a parent, a child, a friend, a sibling or a significant other. A twin flame is like a soul mate in that most likely you have shared other lifetimes. The difference is that you and your twin flame were born as one soul and later split into two separate souls. My understanding is that not everyone has a soul twin or twin flame. Nor does everyone necessarily get to meet their twin flame. Meeting and knowing your twin soul is a privilege.

Not unlike physical twins, soul twins are very tuned into and drawn to each other and seem to feel each other from afar. Everything is magnified by a 100 fold between twin flames – their love as well as their baggage. Generally speaking, twin flames come as male and female counterparts. They seem to be the exact and opposite intonation of each other and provide excellent mirrors for each other. If you do have a twin flame, note that they are literally the other half of your soul.

Twin flame’s love for each other is unmatched by any other. If the twin flames carry a lot of baggage, however, the relationship can be very intense to the point of being unbearable. A shaman once told me that when he met his twin flame, they blew up a car engine together. I can’t say that that has been my experience with my twin, however, our encounter has had its intensity. I haven’t experienced anything like it before or since.

This intensity between twin flames forces one to heal old issues, for it seems to be the only thing that makes the twin flame encounter more bearable, or so at least has been my experience. The irony is that if you have had a lot of losses with your twin, their departure can be as painful as their stay, which puts you in a constant flux of pain with nowhere to go. Healing all the old baggage with your twin can be quite the monumental task. The journey certainly is not for the faint hearted.

Having completed a large part of my journey and being able to now look past the painful parts, I can truly say that I am immensely grateful for my twin flame and all that he has done for me on a soul level, including all his sacrifices, so that I could heal certain parts of my soul.

I’ve come to admire his strength, his resilience, his resourcefulness, his speed, his wit, his business savvy, his sensitivity, his amazing intuition and his ability to survive under the most difficult circumstances. I’ve come to appreciate the amazing power of his spirit, especially given the journey he has picked for himself this lifetime. If there is one thing I’ve learned through my profound journey with him, it is that we are so much more than our circumstances. My biggest wish is to someday be together and simply enjoy our presence and love for each other without the interference of drama re-enactments of old unresolved issues.

    Enjoy the read!

    Chapter One

It was a lazy summer day, on a Sunday in late August of 2005. I had nothing pressing to do that day, so I decided to fix my front door. It needed prepping for the winter. It had been horribly drafty on cold days. I set out to the local hardware store for materials. Lost in my thoughts, I strolled down the aisles when suddenly there came running toward me a guy dressed in a head bandana in a patriotic theme of the American flag with a matching tank top and shorts. Before I could even blink an eye, he picked me up, threw me up in the air and caught me on the way back down.

Do you remember who I am? he asked with a big smile and a hint of uncertainty. Little did I understand the real meaning of his question right then.

Wait. Let me back up little. How did I even get to a town like Greenville? Well, it was in California, five years earlier in the summer of 2000, when I walked out of the counselor’s office. She ended our meeting by leaving me to ponder what my options were. I sat in my car and headed for a local grocery outlet. Ok, so what are my options? I asked myself, mildly pissed off. Well, I’ll either divorce the son of a –itch, we’ll move to Europe, or we’re moving to Colorado. There! Contemplating which might be the easiest of them, I matter-of-factly decided on the move to Colorado. Don’t ask me how I came up with Colorado; I never even had been there! I do, however, recall some acquaintances from Colorado who always spoke of its beauty. Oh, no doubt; this journey was what one might call spiritually guided.

Twenty minutes later I arrived at the store. I bought a slice of pizza for lunch and sat across from a lady who was also eating. She was fairly small built and maybe in her early fifties. That’s all I recall about her. As fate would have it, she happened to be visiting from…., you guessed it, Colorado.

So, where is a good place to live in Colorado? I asked.

Well, there is a cute little town nestled in the foothills of the mountains near Denver called Greenville. It’s on the growth busting at its seams. She responded. It’s funny how mere strangers touch our lives in such profound ways without knowing.

Later that summer, during a brief four day visit my husband interviewed for a job in the Denver area and got hired, and we found the perfect house in Greenville. That year, in November of 2000, we moved to Greenville, Colorado. And so my journey began…

Greenville was a beautiful small mountain town nestled in the foothills of the Rockies, located 30 minutes west of Denver. For me it had been love at first sight. The snowcapped mountains were breathtaking. The occasional herd of elk crossing the street was majestic. The lightning storms were more exciting than a movie thriller. The plush green landscaping with partially wooded areas under the deep blue sky gave a feeling of being in an old western film. On a sunny day, an occasional low cloud would cast a shadow like an umbrella and cause a sensation of a storybook setting. I felt a privileged witness to such beauty. This was where my story would unfold.

Ironically, Greenville reminded me a little bit of California’s Silicon Valley, but much smaller and slower pace. It housed a number of diverse cultures from all over the world including all areas of the United States. I wasn’t the only one who had migrated from California, trying to escape the frenzy of computers and seeking the serenity of the mountains. The unique way the town stretched through the mountains was deceptive as to the number of people it housed, but unlike Denver, it had a small community feeling.

Our newly purchased house set at an elevation of 8500 feet on two acres was a dream come true, but short lived. The change in scenery had done nothing to improve my marriage as I had hoped. As such I decided to exercise my other option a couple of years later and divorce my husband of eight years. Two months before I left him I started cosmetology school. I had been out of the job market nearly throughout all of my marriage and needed to acquire a new skill to earn a living. I had no desire returning to the computer industry; I had burned out on computers and corporate politics over a period of 10 years. I wanted to do something I enjoyed and own my own business. Cosmetology seemed to fit the bill. I could be creative, work with people and be the master of my own time and money. During my divorce and while attending school, I spent one year rooming with a friend in Denver. It was during this time I completely changed my looks from bleach blond to very dark brunette, nearly black.

Spiritually, I was drawn to Greenville and moved back as soon as I finished school in August of 2003. I purchased a half a duplex in a fairly populated area of town and soon thereafter completed building a nifty studio into my home from where I ran my cosmetology business.

Here I was, 41 years old, at my prime and single, nestled in the cutest little town in the foothills of the Rockies and somehow, I had managed to wipe my slate clean. I didn’t even have a single relative in Colorado. My son had moved to another state and was charting his own way. I had an aunt and a cousin in California, with whom I rarely spoke. The rest of my family lived in Europe. My ex and I didn’t keep any contact after our divorce. Aside from a few acquaintances I had made since first moving to Greenville, I was completely alone and for the first time in a very long time I felt a great sense of freedom.

It was then that I decided to set some very important goals for myself. Two of my goals revolved around money and health. The third and much desired goal was to finally meet a great guy and have a healthy relationship. I was tired of my less-than-successful relationships. Thus far, I had been married and divorced twice. These goals helped me set sail so to speak… on my profound journey. It’s amazing how our soul aspires to help us reach our goals, but the journey it takes us on usually is far from what we expect.

Most people in Greenville owned their own businesses and for the most part, worked from their homes. A different group of people who mostly worked for the airlines, commuted to Denver. There seemed a dichotomy between the really well to do and the ordinary mountain folk. In between were the business people who struggled with their new ventures. I was one of them. Soon after starting my cosmetology business, I joined the local Chamber of Commerce. It was a great way for me to meet people and generate business.

Greenville also had a local pub called the Rooster, a popular and happening place. People from all over Denver, even as far as Colorado Springs came to see live bands like Something Underground, Chris Daniels and the Kings, Tiny Barge and the Big Chill and many others. The local dating scene, however, left something to be desired. The Colorado native guys seemed somewhat reserved and shy and difficult to meet. Greenville was a bedroom community where everyone seemed to retire at nine o’clock, which didn’t lend itself well to a single person. The local pub seemed the only place for singles to mingle and hang out, unless one wanted to drive down to Denver. For me, it was a convenient place to go and listen to music.

One Friday evening, in the early part of August in 2005, a good friend of mine, Tammy, and I headed to the Rooster for some fun. The music was loud and great as usual. Right from the start, Tammy and I met a couple of guys who were engaging us in conversation and buying us drinks, quite unusual for the regular local lads. The guy talking to me was about 5’10", medium build, blond shoulder length hair, blue eyes and wore slim eyeglasses. He almost seemed a bit out of character. He dressed fashionably, not in the typical American style. He had a flair for the European. He proudly showed off his fancy Nike shoes. His somewhat out of style bleach blond shoulder length hair seemed to strangely suit him. His skin was tan from working in
