About this ebook

Allison DuBois first realised her abilities at six years old when she saw her great-grandfather - after his funeral. For many years she learned to downplay her talents but while working for the county attorney when at law school, her gift took a distinct and miraculous turn. As she handled evidence from murder cases, Allison began to 'see' the crimes as they had occurred, providing vital information such as the location of bodies and unidentified perpetrators. She then decided to dedicate her life to ease the pain of those who have lost loved ones. Allison has helped solve numerous crimes. She has also been studied at three universities and her accuracy has amazed scientific researchers. DON'T KISS THEM GOODBYE is the fascinating account of a devoted wife and mother who combines a normal life with the ability to communicate with the dead.

Allison DuBois

Allison Dubois's unique story, the inspiration for the hit NBC TV series Medium, started during her senior year at Arizona State University while she was interning at the D.A.'s office. Soon after, researchers at the University of Arizona validated her ability through a series of tests. Allison continues to support research as a medium, as a member of the Veritas Research Program Mediums Committee, and as a member of the Forever Family Foundation's Medium Advisory Board. In her short career, Allison has conducted over 1,200 personal readings. Allison donates her time to missing-persons and criminal cases for agencies across the country.

This book is both very sad and very inspirational. The author, Allison DuBois, is the woman whose life formed the inspiration for the TV show Medium. This book explains how she came to realize her talent and how she came to use it for good. It contains several actual cases and readings she has worked on and is finished by a chapter about what it is like to live with a medium, written by her husband Joe.This is an excellent book that is an easy read, and it will have you run the full gamut of your emotions before you are through. Well worth picking up.

Allison describes her life, and fascinating psychic gift. One reason she wrote Don't Kiss Them Goodbye was that she didn't get the emotional support she needed when she discovered her abilities, and wanted to help young psychics and their families understand and accept their unusual skills. Being tested and validated at the Human Energy Systems Lab (Arizona) helped her fine-tune her abilities, giving her additional confidence to continue helping law enforcement agencies. Allison also hopes the book will help people accept real psychics and recognize cons. Unfortunately most of Don't Kiss Them Goodbye is disjointed and choppy, and not well-edited. The last few chapters are more focused. This a fast read about an intriguing life - don't let poor editing stop you from reading this.

Allison DuBois is the medium that is the inspiration for the tv show called - coincidently - Medium. In this book she discusses the realities of her daily life, and the words of guidance she uses with young people (including her own daughter) who show signs of being gifted. Interesting, and enlightening.

Ugh...I would be really interested in reading more about this woman's experiences, but this book is not that. This book is how to encourage and trust the medium that you know or may be raising. An interesting topic, but this book felt really defensive.

Boring and unbelievable read. I've seen her in person found her to be quite authentic, but the book convinced me otherwise.

I found it interesting and sincere, even though I may not totally agree with the interpretation.

For a book that is found in the body, mind and spirit section of your local bookshop this is one of the most critical and judgemental books I have ever read. The author is filled with so much self importance that at times it was a struggle to continue reading. For someone who is 'physic' she lacks comapssion for her fellow travellers, she condemns and criticises those who do not follow her rules. Don't read unless you want a 'guru' to worship.

This book left me a little disappointed. After watching the t.v. show based on Allison DuBois' life and work ("Medium"), I was greatly intrigued to read about more of her psychic enounters. Yet, this book only talks about how to find your inner psychic and the difficulties she faced with accepting her new found ability. Though, there were a few stories that left me with goosebumps. Overall the writing was average. I hope that Mrs. DuBois will come out with another book highlighting more of her experiences.
