Having suffered pleasure and pain, gladly dost thou deny the things of existence for freedom of desire-from this sorry mess of inequality-once so desired. And is fear of desire. The addition of the 'I' of a greater illusion. Desire is the conception I and induces Thou. There is neither thou nor I nor a third person-loosing this consciousness by unity of I and Self; there would be no limit to consciousness in sexuality. Isolation in ecstasy, the final inducement, is enough-But, procreate thou alone!

      The reason I'm giving this one star has everything to do with presentation. Spare's writings are abstruse, to say the least, but they originally came in books that were literally works of art. You can't just print out the text with no care or feeling for font and typography alongside (or under) some haphazardly placed black and white reproductions of his art and expect it to gel. If you're just curious about what he wrote you can look up all the texts contained in this book online. If you want a bona fide AOS grimoire, I'd recommend trying to get hold of something that contains a higher-quality reproduction of his works.

      The content of this book is superb. My issue is the book itself; it is scanilated- poorly. Not only are there numerous spelling issues that take away from the meaning, the pictures are poorly reproduced as well, drawing away from the sublime message and teaching of Austin Osman Spare.
