I am a retired Dentist and enjoy writing as a hobby─I write for the creative FUN of writing. Other hobbies include playing the clarinet, Soprano sax and Bongos, oil painting, photography, and graphite drawing. Story ideas may occur to me spontaneously, or just by looking at a picture when it evokes a story line in my mind, and I use it as a 'seed' to grow the story.I'm a 'romantic' at heart. Love runs deep in me, and have published several romances as a result (and usually fall in LOVE with my female protagonist) mixed in with some adventure stories, and stories for Young Adults.I have done a few things in my life to include, Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Mountain Rappelling Instructor, clinical lab tech, read books on Sci and romances, and hold a license as a Ham Radio operator---all of which I assume, add to the repository from which I draw some of my story ideas. I grew up reading Mad Magazine which, I’m sure, affected (distorted?) my sense of humor as well as my perspective on life. I enjoy humor, and like to laugh.I'm am most assuredly an untrained amateur but nevertheless have published five small books on Amazon and twelve on Smashbooks.com under the name of R.H. Proenza if for nothing else but my ego. I live in Georgia with my wife Sandy, a computer or two, and no pets.

CHAPTER 1
Daniel Brody got chills, and his face flushed the minute he saw her come out of the University student lounge – the perfect, gorgeous, familiar face of a girl─yet one he had never met. He was on his way to say his last goodbye to Professor MacDonald, with whom he had formed a good friendship through his four-year college stint, but fate stopped him dead in his tracks; the girl’s beauty and her sudden appearance hit him between the eyes! It was a chance encounter.
To think I could have missed her had I been looking in a different direction. Daniel was about to graduate from a long stretch in college and leave this place forever. He could have missed her completely. But there in front of him was the girl. The GIRL OF HIS DREAMS ─LITERALLY from his dreams! ─From last night, the night before, and before that, and …
The girl stopped outside the door to read a sheet of paper she held. Her angel face was the same one he had already seen in a dream ─ many dreams, in fact. He stood there like one of Michaelangelo's marble statues, mouth agape to admire her beauty, his chills only beginning to disappear. Daniel took a deep breath to replace the deficit his lungs had just experienced. All sorts of scenarios and explanations stampeded through his brain and bounced about to explain what he was seeing.
He was dumbfounded. Yes, THE GIRL WAS REAL! Every part of her face was familiar because of his dreams: her beautiful green eyes, perfect eyebrows, flawless complexion, how she styled her lustrous dark hair, and even how she walked. All familiar!
It WAS the girl in his dreams, down to the recognizable tiny freckle on her neck under one ear! A girl out of my imagination here in the flesh! But how could this be? The thoughts ran through his mind like one thousand ping pong balls bouncing all over the place on a tile floor.
She looked up and caught him staring, giving him a slight jolt. She appeared just as surprised and seemed to give out an odd body shiver the minute their eyes met. It left Dan still wide-eyed startled, and catatonic. She looked startled at herself, turned side to side to see if anyone else had noticed, then began walking away.
It was a few seconds before he could snap out of it and start following zombie-like. Two other girls caught up with her as she walked. He heard them say they needed to hurry or be late to wherever they headed. They all turned and walked off in the same direction.
He wanted to, no, he HAD to follow her before she got away. His legs soon found the strength to move. He had to find out why he had been dreaming about her these past months.
What would I say to her if I caught up with the girl? Would she think I was some stalker or pervert and would never have anything to do with me? I could blow the whole thing right here and now! How would I even BEGIN to explain?
But he had to take advantage of this serendipitous encounter. He could not lose this chance.
The girl and her two friends went through a side door to an auditorium. As he arrived at the same door and entered a moment later, a vast, confusing sea of students confronted him.
Crap! Where’d she go? He chastised his lousy luck. He had lost her in the crowd.
Dan knew it was futile to look for her in this mob. He looked around at as many faces as he could in foolish desperation. He impatiently sat outside the front doors of the auditorium and waited until she would certainly leave at the end of this session. Still, he knew it was a lost cause because the building had four other side doors. The girl could walk out any one of those on the way out, and he couldn't watch all of them─not at the same time. Double Crap! he thought. But he had to try. He sat not far from the building, hoping to cover all the doors.
