About this ebook
A young man in New York went mad and murdered his father. Or so say the local police and doctors.
His mother knows he is innocent and knows he is not crazy. She appeals to Sherlock Holmes and together with Dr. and Mrs. Watson he crosses the Atlantic to help this client in need.
Two wealthy families are neighbors and intertwined in their relations with each other. The patriarchs date back to their days together as young men in the California Gold Rush. Are they loyal to each other or are there dark secrets that will destroy the lives of the younger generation.
Once Sherlock Holmes reaches new York he must duel with the passions within the family, the villains of Tammany Hall and with the specter of the legendary headless horseman.
New Sherlock Holmes Mysteries by Craig Stephen Copland are all written as if they were traditional stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. Each one is inspired by one of the stories in the original Canon. They are set in late Victorian England and use similar characters and elements of the plot as are found in the original story, but then take off into a completely new mystery. Eventually there will be a new mystery that corresponds with each of the original sixty stories. A new one will be released every month (usually).
Readers who are fans of the original Sherlock Holmes stories will enjoy meeting up again with the Sherlock and Watson they know and love.

In May of 2014 the Sherlock Holmes Society of Canada – better known as The Bootmakers (www.torontobootmakers.com) – announced a contest for a new Sherlock Holmes story. Although he had no experience writing fiction, the author submitted a short Sherlock Holmes mystery and was blessed to be declared one of the winners. Thus inspired, he has continued to write new Sherlock Holmes mysteries since. In real life he writes about and serves as a consultant for political campaigns in Canada and the USA (www.ConservativeGrowth.net), but would abandon that pursuit if he could possibly earn a decent living writing about Sherlock Holmes. He currently writes from Toronto, Tokyo, and Manhattan.
