About this ebook
This story also appears in the short story collection: "PODS! And other Supernatural Tales."
Longing for a soul mate, Heather decides to put herself ‘out there’, leaving herself open and vulnerable. This is not always wise in a world where human beings and beasts co-exist; and knowing which is which isn’t always evident.
In broad daylight ... close to home ... where she feels safe ... Heather may meet her soul mate, or her soul’s demise.
This is a dark, paranormal short story from the author of TALES FROM THE BEAUMONT HOUSE and THE PROMISE OF A NEW TOMORROW.

The creature was massively large. It possessed the body and face of a prehistoric lizard with horns atop its head. The claws were huge with long nails for picking up prey. Its skin was scaly and its wings were enormous even when tucked behind its body. The primitive-looking creature resembled something one would see at a museum display; next to the T-Rex bones.
It was one of six gargoyles spaced across the top of an old high-rise apartment building in New York City. The gargoyles were so high above the sidewalk that most people were unaware of them. Only an occasional helicopter pilot could see the enormity and magnificence of the gargoyles.

Eventually it walked, slowly, then ran and was able to fly off of the building and into the night sky. It soared with its powerful wings for hours until it felt its body becoming stiff and returning to stone once again. The creature knew that it had to return to the top of the building to perch. It had no choice but to
