About this ebook

Deal with a job that is Making you Sick, Losing you Money and Promotions or Causing you to be Upset and Angry Without Selling Your Soul to the Corporation.

Is your job making you physically ill? Do you dread getting up each day because you have to go to the hated office? Do you only feel alive on the weekends because you don’t have to go to work? Is your boss an idiot who is constantly harassing you, denying you raises and making you miserable?

Wouldn’t it be better to look forward to going to work each day? Would you enjoy a challenging job where you receive a fair wage, are treated humanely and with compassion, and where you receive the resources, training and help you need to be successful?

Seems like a dream, doesn’t it? Jobs like that don’t exist in real life, do they?

I worked in unsatisfying jobs for employers that didn’t care and wouldn’t reward good and competent service. I remained loyal, blindly doing what I was told, forced to be on call 24x7, to work without adequate training and resources, and going months without a complement or a thank you.

I survived through sheer force of will, determination and a belief in myself and my abilities.

But there is a better way than taking the abuse and being a victim of poor management, insufficient support, unreasonable and even illegal demands. You can take control of your situation, as long as you are willing to speak up for yourself, demand your rights and to be treated fairly, and be willing to move of if you cannot correct the situation.

* Learn to communicate without fear
* Handle the whacko boss
* Deal with harassment without mercy
* Stop being taken advantage of and being used
* Get that promotion or raise that you deserve
* And be prepared to walk away if you must

Author

Richard G Lowe, Jr

Richard Lowe has leveraged more than 35 years of experience as a senior computer manager and designer at four companies into that of an author, blogger, ghost writer, and public speaker. He has written hundreds of articles for blogs and ghost written over a dozen books. He’s published factual books about computers, the internet, surviving disasters, management, and human rights. He’s currently working on a ten volume science fiction series, to be published at the rate of 3 volumes per year beginning in 2016. Richard began in the field of Information Technology, first as the Vice President of Consulting at Software Techniques, Inc. Since Richard craved action, after six years he moved on to work at TWO companies at the same time: he was a Vice President at Beck Computer Systems and the Senior Designer at BIF Accutel. In January 1994, he found a home at Trader Joe’s as the Director of Technical Services and Computer Operations. He remained at that wondrous company for almost twenty years, before taking an early retirement to begin a whole new life as a professional writer. Richard has a quirky sense of humor and has found that life is full of joy and wonder. As he puts it, “this little ball of rock, mud, and water known as Earth is an incredible place, with many secrets to discover. Our corner of the universe is filled with beings, some happy and some sad, who each have their own special story to tell.” His philosophy is to take life with a light heart; He approaches each day as a new source of happiness. Evil is ignored, discarded or defeated; Good gets helped, enriched and fulfilled. Richard spent many happy days hiking in many National Parks, crawling over boulders, and peering at Indian pictographs. He toured the Channel Islands off Santa Barbara, and stared in fascination at wasps building their homes in Anza-Borrego. Some of his joys include photography, and he has photographed over 1,200 belly dance events as well as dozens of renaissance fairs all over the country. Because writing is his passion, Richard remains extremely creative and prolific; each day he completes between 5,000 and 10,000 words, diligently using language to bring the world to life so that others may learn and be entertained. Richard currently works as a ghost writer at http://www.theghostpublishing.com.
