About this ebook
I know you're up in heaven, God,
and can hear my voice from there.
I'm just a little child.
Will you answer my short prayer?
Bestselling author Anthony DeStefano believes that prayer is the greatest gift you can give a child. Using simple language and rhyme—written as a heartfelt prayer—this story expresses a child’s understanding of our loving, faithful God. It encourages little ones to go beyond asking God for things to trusting Him for courage when feeling afraid, joy when sad or lonely, and guidance when confused or unsure.
Mark Elliott’s beautiful, photo-realistic illustrations of children in everyday situations keep young readers turning the pages to see what comes next. When the last page has been turned and the amen has been said, little ones will understand that prayer is a simple conversation with God—easy, natural, and everlasting.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This Little Prayer of Mine is a book full of wonderful pictures that spark the imagination and with a few words per page it really allows a child to take in and fully absorb the message within. It is never too early to start teaching your children how to pray and that their prayers, as are all prayers, are important to God. This book is a perfect tool to help in teaching that lesson. This would be a great book for bedtime or anytime, or even a good one to memorize.
*Thanks to Staci Carmichael of WaterBrook Multnomah for providing a copy for review.* - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This Little Prayer of Mine is a wonderful book. The illustrations by Mark Elliott make it a beautiful book. I enjoyed its simple message about prayer. Telling a child they can talk to God and then giving them no instruction about how to do that leads them to give up on praying. This simple book illustrates through words and pictures how simple it can be to talk to God. It also shows them that you don’t have to talk to God only when you want something. You can ask God to give you strength, to calm your fears. It teaches kids they can go to God when they aren’t sure what to do. The book also demonstrated that we have a loving and forgiving God we can go to. I can’t wait to share this with my granddaughter. It will be in her Easter Basket. After all, God gave us his greatest gift so I can think of nothing better than to teach my grandchildren about God.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a great book for your little ones. I liked that it was simple and easy for children to understand. It got across the message of knowing that God loves you and is watching over you all the time. It also shows children that there is no "wrong" way to pray. While it's a short and quick read I think it delivers a wonderful message to children.I must add here that the book was illustrated by Mark Elliot. He did a beautiful job with tying in the story and illustrations!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What I Liked About the Book:* Beautiful Illustrations* Good Bedtime Story* Great Interactivity* Gift GivingThis Little Prayer of MineIt is comforting to know for children (and adults, too) that God's love surrounds them when life seems scary or you are all alone. Calling out to God and just talking to Him is a wonderful way to encourage the presence of God in prayer. I love books on prayer and you'll find on the front cover that this book is "Endorsed By National Day of Prayer." The illustrations by Mark Elliott add so much to each page of the story line. I found this children's book so inspirational, written from Anthony's heart, that I wanted to recommend this book to you for your library purchase and gift giving. It is a wonderful message of faith and inspiration that strengthens and reinforces children of every age in that every day hope and assurance that God is love. He truly does listen to our prayers. This will be one of those book's that is continually asked for bedtime reading . It's a real simple message for all children and adults and that is to be loved... and with assurance, I can say that God does truly love you. You'll be happy you purchased this wonderful book... it's a great read! Anthony DeStefano has a winner with this one!
