En México, la ignorancia y la falta de cultura es una constante en la población y no lo digo yo. La mayoría de los habitantes se caracterizan por no leer o leer muy poco. De acuerdo a Páez (2016), el promedio es menos de 3 libros al año, evidentemente, algunos no leen ni un libro y otros pueden argumentar que “leen” libros de texto. Los mexicanos ocupamos el deshonroso penúltimo lugar en lectura en el mundo.
A la mitad de los mexicanos no le interesa la cultura, carecen de interés sobre el tema (La Jornada, 2010). Ni al teatro, ni a un museo, ni a un concierto refieren haber asistido, entre otras cosas.
En realidad no encontré mayor información sobre el tema, por tanto, realicé una serie de encuestas (200) con la intención de preguntar sobre algunos artistas y sus preferencias sobre los mismos. El estudio se realizó con mayores de 12 años y personas adultas. En síntesis, encontré que la mayoría no tienen idea de los artistas, excepto de aquellos exageradamente conocidos.
En el caso de la música, sus gustos están dirigidos a artistas comerciales contemporáneos (Pop, Rock, Banda, Reggaeton, Baladas, etc.), salvo una pequeña minoría. Además, varios refieren no les gusta la música clásica y la ópera les aburre, no les interesa ir a un concierto de alguna orquesta. El caso del teatro, danza o artes plásticas o visuales, es aún más dramático, el desconocimiento.
Sus intereses pasan por otros ámbitos, por caso, el futbol, los videojuegos, hacer ejercicio, ver televisión, etc.
En síntesis, un grupo de empresas, con estrategias de marketing, han influido y determinado buena parte de los gustos de los mexicanos, de las actividades, de los intereses, imponen una serie de “artistas” quienes, en su mayoría, producen basura. El Arte ha sido reducido a una serie de bagatelas, de temas intrascendentes.
Los pocos artistas plásticos que se conocen masivamente, son reproducidos en postales, calendarios, cuadros, tazas y toda clase de recuerditos y objetos decorativos.
Entre telenovelas, “cantantes y actores guapos”, telenovelas, programas de comedia, obras de teatro cómicas, orquestas que siempre tocan lo mismo y ballets que no pasan de repetir lo de siempre. El Arte se diluye. Los artistas visuales se han convertido en meros diseñadores gráficos, ahora ya superados por programas computacionales. Hay un fenómeno interesantísimo que está produciendo, de vez en cuando, obras magníficas, que la mayoría desprecia y no entiende, el cine; pero ese estudio requiere su propio espacio, esta obra está acotada a un espacio temporal anterior: la Modernidad.
El poco arte disponible queda sometido a una serie de “expertos”, “críticos de arte” y otros payasos venidos de otras profesiones y que no encontraron cabida en su área (psicólogos, historiadores, filósofos, administradores, sociólogos, antropólogos, etc.), pero ¿por qué al arte?, ¿por qué incursionar en el arte? Porque piensan que es muy fácil, jamás se les ocurriría entrometerse en cuestiones de ciencias, por ejemplo.
Así, dichos parásitos se insertan en escuelas y universidades según impartiendo clases de historia del arte, escribiendo necedades entorno al tema, según ellos, forman artistas, incluso abren escuelas de música, de pintura, de ballet, etc. Crean programas y proyectos a nivel nacional y estatal, de algo que desconocen y reducen a una práctica, meramente, manual.
Redujeron el arte a una mera parte técnica, porque no lo entienden, no saben, reducen el arte a dar acuarelas a niños y que pinten lo que quieran, lo que sea, a tocar un instrumento, a enseñar técnicas de pintura, de actuación, de baile, eso NO ES ARTE, es un divertimento, un pasatiempo sin propósito trascendente. No entienden los cuadros, no comprenden las obras, sólo dan fechas y nombres de artistas cuya producción, no entienden.
