This book is about the friendship between frog and toad. One day toad got a note from frog about being alone. Toad was worried, because he thought frog did not want to be friends with him anymore. Toad really wanted to know what happened to frog and so the story goes on.This is a good book to talk about friendship; moreover, it is a good example of being alone for any other reason. This is a good book for 3rd and 4th grade.

This book has simple, well organized language that is easy for children to follow. The content is easy to relate to and imaginative. Children would be engaged with the content and enjoy it both in a read aloud format and in independent reading. The theme of friendship is important among young children especially as they become acustomed to appropriate social behavior.

In this classic, the author describes everything so well and gives children understanding of what friendship means. In this specific book the two friends sit around all day telling stories to put off chores. The stories that the two tell are pretty humorous and silly. This book is good for children that enjoy reading books that are humorous and are based on friendship.

Media: Colored PencilsGenre: FantasyReview: Frog and Toad is an excellent example of a fantasy because the characters and actions are made to seem believable however they cannot actually happen in our world. The book is about the different things that Frog and Toad do during their days such as cleaning house and flying a kite; these are things that Frogs and Toads cannot actually do. The book does a great job of teaching lessons through each chapter in the book.

Arnold Lobel's fourth and final collection of stories devoted to the doings of that amphibian pair, Frog and Toad - previous titles include: Frog and Toad Are Friends, Frog and Toad Together, and Frog and Toad All Year - this charming beginning reader was, together with its companions, one of my absolute favorites as a young girl. Like the other collections, Days With Frog and Toad contains five brief stories, each of which highlights the very different characters of the two friends, and how those differences play out in their relationship with one another. In Tomorrow, we see an indolent Toad spurred to action in his cleaning, not by Frog's observations of his house, but by a desire to make the following day a work-free experience. Frog convinces Toad to keep trying, in The Kite, despite the ridicule of some local robins, who have him convinced that their effort to fly a kite is doomed to failure. Shivers depicts the delights of a well-told ghost story (concerning the Old Dark Frog), when shared around a cozy fire, while The Hat sees Frog resorting to another of his stratagems (see Spring, in Frog and Toad Are Friends, for another example of this), when his gift to Toad isn't quite the thing. Finally, companionship and solitude are explored in Alone, when Frog goes off to meditate, and a worried Toad follows after him.Delightfully humorous - in a subtle, rather than a slapstick style - with moments both poignant and entertaining, these tales can be read again and again with pleasure - something that is not entirely accidental, I imagine, given their status as "beginning readers." The artwork is appealing, in both its simplicity and expressiveness - I particular like the final scene, in this final Frog and Toad book, in which the two friends sit quietly together on a rock, staring out across the river - and greatly adds to the charm of the text. All in all: a real winner!

Summary: This story is a chapter book in which we get four mini-stories of two best friends who work together to get accomplish their goals. In the first story, we learn how to work hard so that we do not have to hold things off until the last minute. It was a story showing how procrastination can be avoided. The second story was about believing in the things we do in order to accomplish them. If we just believe hard enough, it will happen. The third story was a ghost story in which we never learn whether it was true or false. The fourth story was a loving tale of how we can be alone and enjoy the quietness of the day without being sad. It really shows how important alone time is and how good it is. this really is great critical literacy because the themes throughout teach such strong messages of hard work, belief, mystery and the importance of knowing one's self.Genre: This is a good example of fantasy because it shows two frogs living like humans, talking like humans, and having humanistic qualities that could not exist in real life.Characterization: I believe Toad is an interesting character. Throughout the series of stories, we see him growing in his belief in himself and his friend. he learns vital life lessons and comes out on top. He is a round character, yet in a way i see him as a secondary character in manner and thought to Frog due to the fact that Frog is always one step ahead and is the one teaching the lessons. He is one of the main character/protagonists.media: best guess = water color/pencil

Reason for Reading: Next in the series. Ds read aloud as his reader.I can't say much more than I have already said with the previous three books in this series. This was the last one published but it does not matter which order you read them in. Once again Lobel proves that the perfect children's book transcends all ages. Ds and I had a great laugh at the antics of Frog and Toad. They are just plain silly and yet they ring true with our everyday life. Frog and Toad each has their own distinct personalities and together they compliment each other. My favourite story from this book is "Tomorrow" in which Toad, lazing in bed, as always, puts off every single chore until tomorrow and then he starts to worry about what a hectic day he is going to have tomorrow so he gets up and does each chore now so he won't have to do it tomorrow. The he goes back to bed with a clear mind and no worries!

Days with Frog and Toad is fun story for the young reader. This book is filled with a great beginning lesson on the elements of story and also has a neat set of characters. This particular book is about a journey between two friends, Frog and Toad. Frog and Toad are faced with a few of the most common, everyday problems. For instance, in the beginning of this story, Toad is reluctant to do his chores, but he understands that if he does not do them, he will have to do them the following day. Toad finishes his chores and gets to spend the whole day with Frog. Small elements of problem and solution are riddled throughout this story of friendship between Frog and Toad. The characters for this story are great to support the theme of friendship to the young reader. In other words, it wouldn't seem unlikely for a Frog and a Toad to be friends through the eye of a young child, this can enable them to grasp the idea of friendship in this book. Frog and Toad is a great beginning in to the realm of novels.

Frog and Toad are close friends and that is lovely. With the way they support each other and deal with each other's foibles, they are providing the best possible transition model for my son's mum and I right now. (Except Frog and Toad don't have a toddler.)

I love this little book. It is a great read for kids. The language is simple. The pictures are plentiful and most importantly, each adventure with Frog & Toad in this book contains a good moral story. Values as to how friends should behave with each other. Values as to how the only time success comes before work is in the dictionary type of values.

I highly recommend this book for parents and the young reader.

The Frog and Toad books have got to be some of the best early readers out there, and Days with Frog and Toad was my oldest child’s favorite of the Frog and Toad books. These stories offer an an exploration of friendship with a nice combination of whimsy and silliness, delivered with an underlying warmth. "Shivers," a tongue-in-cheek ghost story, is probably our favorite individual story in the Frog and Toad canon. If you have a young child who is ready to start with basic readers give these a try!

This book includes five stories about Frog and Toad doing things together. Toad procrastinates, Toad has trouble flying a kite, Frog tells toad a scary story, Frog gives Toad a hat that’s too big, and when Toad worries that Frog doesn’t want to be friends any more, he discovers that Frog is the best friend of all. You can’t go wrong with Frog and Toad.

Days with Frog and Toad offers a great story of what friendship means. I liked this book because it teaches life lessons and is humorous and I would use it in my classroom to present those life lessons and show what true friendship is. The theme that I think this book best represents is friendship and is probably suitable for the 2nd and 3rd grades.
