Sincerely there is no viable solution at sight, it seems corruption is drowning Nigeria as a nation. The present efforts by government at fighting corruption are just a mere scratching of the surface of the cankerous disease. And to some people, it is like a window dressing and pretence to fight specific perceived enemies of the political class.
All Nigerians play to the gallery and prefer to be in the circle of blame game on the evolution of this self-inflicted problem. Honestly, the Nigerian academia have refused to critically diagnose the main causes of this heinous crime. The Nigerian society is very sick and need urgent rescue from the profuse bleeding. This road map must be the comprehensive needs of the masses and must be in line with the budget prepared by seasoned consultants rather than abandoning this greatest duty to technocrats who sits in the comfort of their offices to forge budgets. Here lies the fundamental problem facing our common good.
The holy book says, “the human heart is insatiable. It is deeply deceitful too. The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I, the Lord search the heart and examine the mind; to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve”. (Jer. 17,9-10). This group of technocrats in public service have constituted themselves to become stumbling block for the progress of the country in several fronts. Unknowingly, unions, associations and pressure groups laid ambush against the ir fellow compatriots pretending to fight for the rights of the down trodden while in actual fact sustainably milk them dry. Such examples abound in the masquerade face of students union, National Road transport workers union etc. They device all means to perpetrate evil and crime in order to continue to enslave their fellow Nigerians.
Fellow compatriots, all the characters and agencies presented in our book are not intended to pull any down or debase anyone. Nigeria is stinking in corruption and fast running out of value because of the multiple agitations and clannish struggle for separation. Therefore all efforts must be evolved to expose the truth based on the experience and contacts in our journey of life. It is the pains and gravity of the problems, Nigerians are facing presently, that had actually motivated this raw exposure of the truth. We need to collectively rise to rescue the present and future generations yet unborn through promotion of equity, fairness and mass socio-economic emancipation of all Nigerians irrespective of religion, tribe and region.
