About this ebook

If you are interested in the Law of Attraction and are an extremely busy person, this is the book for you. In a quick read, author Betty Ferguson describes how the Law of Attraction works in everyday life, and how it may benefit you.

In a Law of Attraction 101 type format, this book will give you a clear look at the scope of stressful issues of everyday life, letting go of those issues, and insight into pre-paving your life, and how to make the Law of Attraction work to your benefit instead of letting it work in your life by default.

Using her own experiences, Betty Ferguson describes how to focus on your own life and not that of all others. For some, this will be an important reminder. For others it is an introduction to a new way of life. You will experience the amazing results of learning to Stay In Your Own Lane.

    About the Author

To my Mom, Alice MacKenzie (1925-2010) I wrote a quite lengthy dedication to my Mom, which she read before she passed on, so here I will just say she was the best… and an absolute hoot. There is nothing to compare to the influence of your Mom, and I couldn’t have chosen better.

And to Lillian Butler, who is a true lady and the dearest of friends.

    Footprints

One night I had a dream. I was

walking along a beach with the Lord,

and across the sky flashed scenes

from my life. In each scene,

I noticed two sets of footprints,

side by side in the sand.

One was mine and one was the Lord’s.

When the last scene of my life

appeared before me, I looked back,

and to my surprise, I saw that

    during the lowest

and saddest times of my life, there

was only one set of footprints!

Lord, I cried, "you said that once I

decided to follow you, you would walk

    beside me all the way.

But during the most troublesome times

in my life there is only one set

    of footprints. I don’t understand

    why you left my side

when I needed you the most."

The Lord turned and looked at me,

    His eyes filled with love.

    My precious child, He said,

    I have never left you.

During your times of trial, where

you only see one set of footprints,

that was when I was carrying you."

    Preface

When studying the Law of Attraction you may find words that are universally acknowledged, but which are not familiar to you. My extensive studies of the Law of Attraction over the past eight years are based on The Teachings of Abraham as published by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I have also studied the work of Dr. Wayne Dyer on the subject, and respect his opinion as well.

    Definitions in this field are:

The Law of Attraction—Like attracts like

Vibrational Energy—It is the personal level of energy that we emit.

Contrast—Observing what we don’t like and focusing on what we prefer instead.

Vortex—A whirling mass of energy which holds everything we ever desired.

While the popularity of the Law of Attraction has come and gone over the years, the premise has been around, studied and written about for centuries.

As one individual studies it and applies it in their life, the expansion of positive energy is phenomenal. You cannot insist anyone else study the Law of Attraction, or that they believe in the principles of it, but as in the television commercial, If one person tells two people, who tell two people…

In this day and age, the electronic world we now live in makes such a difference in our ability to share information as important as the effects of the Law of Attraction.

When you see the benefit of it in your own life, I encourage you to spread the word.

I wish to Acknowledge and thank

Barb Laidlaw—for your ability to edit and confer. You can write a book by yourself, but without the input of someone who understands what you are trying to accomplish, you never know the simple changes that make such a difference.

Sheila Rowland—for your never-ending enthusiasm, support and our get up and get going pact each morning.

Ren Scharnhorst, my neighbor and good friend—for all the wonderful dinners you cooked so I could focus on my work, and for just being you.

Esther and Jerry Hicks—for their work with The Teachings of Abraham and Dr. Wayne Dyer—for his work about the Law of Attraction. You all are an irreplaceable inspiration to everyone.

    Introduction

Living life is similar to driving a vehicle. Inattention can change your path for the rest of your life.

Think of all the times you or someone you were driving with, reached for something and swerved over the center line, into an adjoining lane or toward the shoulder of the road. Looking for or reaching for the phone, seeing who a text is from, reading it or responding; trying to find your smokes, a lighter or lighting your cigarette; reaching for a drink or messing with the radio… these are but a few of the things that can distract you while driving. Just reading a billboard along the road, looking at beautiful scenery, or glancing down to see what rolled across the floor at that last turn is enough to cause a problem, even if it is only for a moment.

A dear friend of mine, Jo Pollack, was driving home one night from a nursing staff meeting on a two lane road. The 16 year old driver coming at her reached for his drink, went over the center line and hit her head on. He survived without much injury; she did not survive. An amazing woman, mother, grandmother, wife, nurse and friend… gone in an instant of inattention by another driver.

The Law of attraction is working in your life 24/7 whether you know about it or not, believe in it or not, or care… or not. Inattention on your part lets The Law of Attraction work by default, instead of working to your benefit as it should.

There are so many things in life that could be different if you change your
