    Materials

    • Medium (worsted) weight acrylic yarn:

    16 oz dark green

    10 oz gray/blue heather

    8 oz green

    7 oz light blue

    3½ oz sapphire blue

    3½ oz grass green

    3½ oz dark blue

    • Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

    • Tapestry needle

    Gauge

    Square = 9 × 9 inches

    Special Stitch

    Long single crochet (long sc):

    Insert hook in st indicated, yo and draw lp through, yo and draw through 1 lp on hook, yo and draw through both lps on hook.

    Pattern Note

    To change color, work last stitch until 2 loops remain on hook; with new color, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook. Cut old color.

    Make 36.

    Row 1 (RS): With G, ch 5; long sc (see Special Stitch) in 3rd ch from hook (beg 2 sk chs count as a long sc) and in each rem ch, turn. (4 long sc)

    Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as a long sc on this and following rows), long sc in next 2 long sc, long sc in 2nd ch of beg 2 sk chs, turn.

    Row 3: Ch 2, long sc in each long sc and in 2nd ch of turning ch-2, turn.

    Row 4: Ch 2, long sc in each long sc and in 2nd ch of turning ch-2, changing to E in last long sc, turn.

    Rows 5 & 6: Rep row 3.

    Row 7: Ch 2, long
