    The creative mathematician of the first order, an important scientific thinker Rene Descartes was an original metaphysician. He is also regarded as one of the key figures in the scientific revolution of the 17th century. Descartes is famous for his influential arguments which mainly concentrated on substance dualism, western philosophy and French philosophy. He took effort to discover a connection between geometry and algebra, which allowed for solving of geometrical problems by way of algebraic equations. In recognition to his contribution, he is referred as “father or founder father of modern philosophy”. His most significant achievement was the use of algebraic formulas to describe geometric figures, which found a branch of mathematics known as analytical geometry.       INTRODUCTION

      The great philosopher, Rene Descartes usually dubbed as the father of modern western philosophy was born as a French citizen in 1596. This famous mathematician and scientist is much noted for the words ‘I think, Therefore I am’.

      The extensive education he got from childhood was much important in molding his perspectives towards life and nature. He was sent at an age 8 to the Jesuit college of Henri IV where he was indulged in a number of topics like logic, music, mathematics, metaphysics, natural philosophy and ethics. He came out as a good student though there were some setbacks regarding his health. Rene Descartes had a different logical based approach to everything than the conventional feeling-based path that prevailed till the seventeenth century. He started everything with a new fresh idea that every truth existing were always linked to one another and he tried to
