I just wanted to take a moment to say how beautiful it has been to work on this book. The Lord put this idea in my heart a few years back but I was stubborn, and I dragged my feet. I finally conceded which I am so thankful that I listened to Him. This journey has enhanced my prayer and my relationship with Him.

Some might say this book is very general and fundamental to them, I say Thank you, that’s what I was intending. This book is meant to reach the new Christian mom who is overwhelmed within her life somewhere and wanting to seek more within her relationship with Christ. I even hope that this work reaches some of the unsaved women searching for purpose in their lives.

I have a small confession to make; this book almost didn’t happen. I have always written Fiction books; my imagination runs wild with dreamy thoughts and happy endings. When I first started writing this, I wouldn’t get too far. I kept comparing my work to amazing women that have been doing this a lot longer than I have; Experts in the field of saving eternal lives.

I’m a nobody! I’m just a mom who lives in a small town trying my best to raise Godly children and keep the gray out of my hair, and Satan kept reminding me of this. Thoughts of how I would never be as good as some of those writers such as Lisa Bevere or Priscilla Shirer would continually run through my mind.

I stopped working on it for months as I prayed if this was actually God leading me to write this book or if it was me wanting to get back into this profession. This book must be meant for someone because it didn’t take long for the Lord to respond. He said to me I don’t need another Lisa Bevere or Priscilla Shirer...I need a T.R. Smith.

That was the moment that I began working again on this and whomever this book is meant for; may you find his amazing peace that passes all understanding. May your life be blessed knowing that you are not alone and you have meaning beyond what you think your life is worth.

I have allowed the Holy Spirit to lead me as this book has formed. From the titles of chapters to the verses that are penned throughout these pages, this is not my work; it is entirely the work of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I hope that it speaks to you as it has for me.

    Ok, as for my gratitude.

First of all, I have to thank (again) the Lord for giving me this amazing talent. May I continue to use it to bring all the praise and honor to His name. He is the one that directs my steps.

To my husband, Shawn. God placed you in my destiny long before I was born. I dreamed of you when I was young, and I couldn’t imagine life without you. May God continue to bless our marriage, and I cannot wait to keep growing old with you. I love you!

To all six of my children. All my K’s: Every one of you holds a place in my heart. May each of your relationships with the Father above flourish and may blessings continually be upon your lives. You all have been handed over to the Lord when you were little, and each one of you has a particular purpose for your lives. Find it and run with it! God’s protection is around you in all you do, and I can never thank him enough for allowing me to be your mom and stepmom. I love all of you.

Julie, my very prime example of a God-fearing woman and wife, how I have always looked up to you and admired your relationship with Christ. May your light endure as it shines brightly for Him. You don’t even see how much your persona reflects Christ. I love you, and I’m so blessed to be able to call you sister and friend.

Suzan, God brought you into my life, and I couldn’t imagine my life without you. You have encouraged and reinvigorated me to dive in deep to revive my relationship with the Lord. I love your heart and optimistic attitude. I pray that your strength renew daily, and your love for him flourish.

Tay-Tay Your love and strength for Christ have been infectious, and I am so blessed to have you in my life as a role model teaching me to be a better friend, sister in Christ and supporter. Thank you for being there for my girls when they needed Christian advice. I love you and so happy I get to spend my earthly life as well as my eternal life as your friend!

    Dedication

    To my wonderful dad.

    Carl David Speer

    Sept 2, 1951-July 17, 2017

You were always the definition of what a man of God and a loving Father should be. You loved me unconditionally through the good and bad times. You encouraged me even when you knew the decisions I was making weren’t great decisions.

When you left this earth, my heart broke, and it will never be the same. I miss you more than words will ever be able to explain, and I love you even more than that. I cannot wait until the day that I get to see you again in your perfectly healthy body as we stand with Jesus.

"You are so beautiful can’t you see? You’re all I’ve ever hoped for; you’re all I’ll ever need. You are so beautiful to me."

    –Joe Cocker

Love you, daddy, hug Jesus for me!

    Prologue

    ~*~*~*~*~*~

Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up and immediately realize you should’ve just rolled over and gone back to sleep? Children fighting, husband barking, school lunches have to be made, and you are running behind? I understand I’ve been there. Let me take a minute to tell you about myself:

    I am a mom.

Yes, I have a résumé that proudly lists my extensive work history in being a mom. That might not seem like very much to some, but to others, other women that have the same experience as I, they get what I’m saying.

Not only am I a mom, but we are a blended family.

    Yikes! Double whammy!

My husband and I are the parents of the unique and very challenging "Brady Bunch." We have six children, and life is nothing like the television show, I can tell you that in all sincerity. Our children’s names begin with K, but they range in age from adults to pre-teen. Oh, how different they all are. My husband jokes about having number six, but it didn’t matter what our thoughts were, God’s plan gave us our baby girl, and I am beyond blessed that He decided she belonged with us.

Now, getting back to where I originally was going. I wrote this book because I have found throughout my time as being a loving mother and wife that you lose yourself. Not only do you, mom falls by the wayside when taking on your babies, however many you have, but also the husband that God has richly blessed you with as well.

We as women in today’s society, wear many, many hats! From chauffeur to cook, from planner and schedule holder to sometimes working more than forty hours a week. Sometimes our day doesn’t end when we lay our heads down

    at night.

What we have to remember is that God made us and not only is He extremely gratified of our existence, but you were created in His likeness.

For we are God’s handiwork. Created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.–Ephesians 2:10(NIV)

Sometimes this is hard to remember especially when we are overwhelmed with life; homework, cooking dinner, running some kids to soccer practice and other ones to band rehearsal, but God has blessed you! You are created not only with a distinctive purpose to which your life has significant meaning, but the Mighty Father has preordained for unique gifts, talents, and abilities especially for you.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace.–I Peter 4:10

Now, of course, there are going to be trials and hardships that Satan throws our way but I have found that some specific areas seem to hit home with the ladies more than others and those topics are what I want to cover in this book.

These issues are not only taxing to me as a wife but most definitely as a mom.

    So, we’ve
