Paul Sullivan: Theo Epstein and Joe Maddon try to bridge the generation gap: 'Every player is a millennial'

CHICAGO - One of the keys to the Cubs' 2019 season, I learned at the team's annual convention this weekend, is for the Generation X president to get the baby boomer manager to communicate better with the millennials in the clubhouse.

Team President Theo Epstein put the plan into motion this winter, instructing manager Joe Maddon to learn the mindset of the current generation of Cubs players to bring out the best in them.
