About this ebook
Starting over–again
Dani considers herself lucky to get an assistant's job that pays so well even if it is in the back of beyond and temporary. The timing is perfect. She'll do the work, save every dime, and be well on her way for the next step when the job ends. Fending for herself is her new mantra, and no involvement is her new motto.
No women allowed
Connor can't believe his partner hired a woman for an all male construction crew site–what was he thinking? He'll soon send her packing. Or so he thinks until she proves invaluable. Still his policy is no women allowed and that means pretty petite one who tug at his heart strings.
Another road he refuses to travel.
Tragedy struck once. Conner won't open himself up to another possibility of unimaginable heartache. As for Dani, she knows better than to trust anyone. Is a two-month temporary job long enough to change their minds?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sweet Meant To Be by Barbara McMahon. This is Dani Winthrop and Connor Norris' story.
Dani ends up working for Connor and his partner. Connor isn't too happy about her working on a construction site. He hasn't been able to move on. Dani needs this job but also needs a fresh start. She has a short time to convince Connor that she is the right person for the job. Connor is still healing from a tragedy in his life. Dani and Connor are drawn to one another but they both have so much baggage that taking a chance on a relationship may be too much for them. Will these two be able to help each other heal and find true love?
This is a sweet and heartwarming story. I loved Dani and Connor's characters and the supporting characters. I love how the author creates a sweet, emotional, and believable story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sweet Meant To Be is a wonderful story about love & getting it right. Dani was with a man she thought she'd be with forever, until she ended up pregnant & he didn't to be a father. Now, she needed a way to pay her expenses. This job would be perfect! She could work a few months & save enough to see her through the months she had to be off. Her first day got off to a rocky start when she found out Connor didn't want a woman for the job. Connor couldn't believe his partner! An isolated all male construction site was no place for a pretty woman. No one will get their work done! Even though he didn't have the time for interviews, he'd hire the next one after he'd sent Dani away. Connor & Dani both were hurt in their past although in different ways. They both needed to get past those feelings in order to trust each other. The sparks between them are obvious, as is the tension. Why can't they be together?
