Parasites Of The Soul - Shane Ervin
THE LONG WALK
I walk
For what seems
To be a long time
Not knowing were I’m going
I see faces; people I know
But yet I don’t know them
This I can not explain
I wander endlessly
Hoping to find some explanation
Of what I have seen
Hoping to find a way out
But I can’t
Because every path leads nowhere
I am trapped
In an endless realm
And
When I think I have found a way
To escape
I get pulled deeper in
To a place
Where there is no escape
EVERY SECOND
There
I see a light
It comes on and off
Click, click
Off and on
It’s a constant sound
In my ears
The light flickers every second
Burning my eyes with brightness
I am going def and blind
From that bright clicking light
It’s enough to drive one crazy mad
Click, click
Flick, flick
Stop that terrible sound and burning light
Before I become mad
Insane in my brain
Or I am already insane
And it’s just in my head
If that is true I’m forever lost
With that clicking light
Echoing in my every thought
SWEET SOUR
Sleep
Sleep
In hopes of sweet dreams
With sugar plums and rainbows
Until the sweet turns sour
And dreams become nightmares
Then the nightmares haunt
Your every waking thought
With fears of the night
When sleep comes to everyone
Stay awake if you can
Because the nightmare
Will surely come to those
Who sleep with hopes
Of sugar and everything sweet
NO ONE UNDERSTANDS
As I lay me down to sleep
I hear them talk about me
I am scorned by demon tongues
No one understands
I am everyone’s disgust
They can all go back to hell
I mock them
And their hellish
