Did you know that a vegetarian diet is often referred to as the healthiest diets for humanity? Well, according to many studies, there is evidence that shows that a vegetarian diet lowers the chances of developing such diseases as heart disease, diabetes and hence boosting the health of an individual more than that of an average non-vegetarian. Well, don’t get me wrong. In spite of all the benefits that come with a vegetarian diet, it does not mean that it is the best diet for everyone.
For instance, according to research studies, a ketogenic diet has been labeled effective compared to a vegetarian diet when it comes to weight loss. It is also said to be effective in improving triglyceride and sugar levels in the blood. It also plays a critical role in lowering the severity of such conditions as type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome, and some cancer types. However, in spite of all these benefits, the ketogenic diet also has been implicated in a couple of environmental and health concern issues. One of the key environmental issues with the all-meat containing diet often stems from where people derive their animal products such as dairy and meat.
Meat and dairy products that are derived from animals have raised issues in controlled feeding operations. The findings are not only inferior as far as nutrition goes, but also contribute a great deal to climate change, animal abuse, and abuse of the local environments, as well. Additionally, if the meat that we consume is predominantly packaged meat like bacon, sausages, ham, and salami among others, there is an increased risk of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes among other serious diseases.
The good thing is, we can always address these issues by simply borrowing the principle the ketogenic diet and that of the vegetarian diet to formulate a healthy eating plan that takes care of the humans, animals and their surroundings. In other words, we can enjoy the benefits of both a vegetarian diet and that of a ketogenic diet all in one diet, otherwise referred to as the vegetarian ketogenic diet.
So, what is a Vegetarian Ketogenic diet?
One of the simplest definitions of a vegetarian ketogenic diet is that it is a one that is free of meat, fish and any other foul flesh while ensuring that the carb intake is restricted.
