A patent dud

Ask someone to name a lever-action repeating rifle and most people will think of a Winchester or possibly a Marlin. Whatever the name, I would wager it would be that of an American manufacturer. Ask the same person to name an English lever-action repeating rifle and again I would bet that they would unable to. To the best of my knowledge, there was only one, the Atkinson & Needham 1881 patent.
