The award-winning author, TA Sullivan was born in the back of a cab, and she has continued to be unconventional in all that she does. She has worked as a technical and marketing writer, which taught her much about turning boring into readable. She has written articles for a variety of magazines and small newspapers, contributed short stories to several book anthologies, and has had her photos published in two table-top book anthologies. You can read some of her musings and articles at her blog, Tas Through the Looking Glass, or view some of her photos at https://www.zazzle.com/tdgallery. After a near-death experience (NDE), she turned her writing skills toward the esoteric. In her award-winning book, “Escorting the Dead,” she recounts her experiences in the afterlife, and her struggles to integrate her experiences into her more scientific mindset. Once started down this spiritual path, she continued to write about her experiences, including her understanding of dreams and dream symbology, which is titled “On Dreams and Dream Symbols.” She has also shared her extensive knowledge of meditation in “Mastering Meditation.” All her books are available through online book outlets in both paperback and ebooks. Foreword by Dr. Bob Rich
ONE OF MY most powerful past life recalls was facing a superior Presence. This Person was a glow of beauty, without any features I can describe, except that She (the feeling was of a mother figure) was complete compassion and acceptance. She required me to assess two of my previous lives. One was Dermot, who lost the one love of his life at 18 years of age, and died committing a terrible crime, thanks to the ravages of whisky, and decades of brooding resentment. The second was Amelia, the person Dermot had chosen to become in order to make restitution for that crime. That restitution was being married to a cruel, unfeeling rapist of a husband.
So, the spirit that eventually became me wanted a life without male and female, where members of a species love all their fellows. The result was life on a planet somewhere else in the Universe, for 33 earth years. At the end of that life, again I faced the superior Presence. We designed my current life. Among other things, I asked to be free of the terrible pain of loving too much.
I started this life while the bombs were falling. A shot-down airplane crashed into the hospital while my mother squeezed me out. Despite having processed the trauma, I can still feel a shadow of terror now, as I write about the events of my infancy, when every day, the adults caring for me expected to die.
An infant’s automatic reaction to that is to shut down emotion. Only, this cannot be selective. As a child and adult, up until about 2007, all my emotions were cerebral: in my head, not in my heart or guts. Even now, my emotional life is a black-and-white photograph compared to the technicolor movie of most people. Well, I asked for it, didn’t I?
Why is this relevant?
Because the same history has gotten in the way of me being able to see or sense auras. I’ve read, and conscientiously worked through, five books purporting to teach you the skill, with zero success.
One day, a new teacher came into my life. The more you give, the more you get. A writer I’d never previously heard of gave free advice and was rewarded with people visiting her blog. She described how to grab pictures off the internet without violating copyright.
We ended up exchanging many emails and became firm friends. She looked at my aura on online photographs, believe it or not, and gave me a free reading, with detailed advice. We have reviewed each other’s books, and she has sent me a copy of this one for a beta read.
As I worked through the exercises. I recalled many amazing experiences, for example several therapy clients and I joining into one mind so successfully that we (correctly) finished each other’s sentences and felt as one. I can be very intuitive in reading a person, a situation, or a place. Only, until working through this book, I’ve never thought of this as having anything to do with auras.
I think my traumas in infancy made permanent changes in my brain, and I am colorblind for seeing auras, or consciously sensing their energies. So be it. All the same, I have become a better, stronger, wiser person for having conscientiously followed this program. Many of the exercises don’t depend on being able to perceive an aura and I’ve done similar activities, though I knew them by other names, and used them with different theoretical explanations. For example, I’ve changed aspects of my personality, and have guided countless clients in doing the same for themselves, using words, but, according to this book, what I was doing was unknowingly reversing the direction of spin on certain chakras.
So, if All About Auras and this reference guide have been of great benefit for me, my guess is that they will be of benefit for most people.
I know of only one way of finding out if they’ll be of benefit to you and that's to try them for yourself.

THIS REFERENCE GUIDE contains exercises, samples, meditations, and tools to help you build your energy manipulating skills and tune your instincts to sensing and understanding the information contained in your auric layers.
Each exercise has been tried and used by numerous students that I have coached and worked with to help build their skills and auric reading abilities.
Please remember that this reference guide is supposed to be used as a companion to the book, All About Auras. While the exercises can be done on their own, understanding the principles and the reasoning behind them will help you gain more insight and understanding as to the purpose of the exercises. Also, understanding the concepts can (in most cases) make it easier for our human minds to let go and accept ideas we might otherwise fear and reject.
So, please use this reference guide in peace and joy, and let it help you grow the innate intuitive abilities that exist in all of us.
Note: While versions of several of the meditations included in this reference guide also appear in T A Sullivan’s award-winning book, Mastering Meditation, both books use these meditations and intuitive exercises and techniques to achieve similar, but different, outcomes.
CAUTION: Always check with your physician before attempting any exercises or movements shown in this reference guide. And always use caution when attempting to copy any of the movements shown here.
The author nor the publisher are responsible in any way for any injury or mishaps that may occur while attempting to complete any of these physical exercises.
Exercise 1 – Manually Controlling Your Internal GPS
TO TRANSCEND THE restrictions of your reality and your physical form, you need to learn how to turn off your internal GPS. The exercises in this chapter can help you do that.
A summary of the concepts behind these exercises follows. For more detailed information on the principles and science related to these exercises, read chapter 2 – Using Your Internal GPS
in the book, All About Auras.
To skip directly to the exercises, go to page 4, Achieving Oneness.
Being One with the World
Releasing the internal barrier that helps you recognize the difference between self and others is what allows you to read others and to see them clearly.
With your internal GPS released, you see the other person as if you are they. Without personal internal boundaries it is possible for you to shift your perception to include anyone and everyone if you want to.
The more of this barrier that you release, the more universal your perception and the more open your outlook on life becomes. Once you completely shut the barrier down, you should be able to widen your perception to be everywhere and include everyone—even those who are discarnate.
Some people find turning on and off their internal GPS is as natural as blinking their eyes; however, others need some practice. Whichever you are is all right. Just take your time, follow the exercises, and let it happen.
Achieving Oneness
Sit or lie comfortably in a quiet place. It’s up to you whether to allow the sun inside or if you want the room darkened.
Begin
Take deep relaxing breaths.
Breathe in as you slowly count to three. Then breathe out as you again slowly count to three.
As you breathe in and out, feel the tension flow out of your body.
Let your shoulders droop and your eyes drift closed.
Allow your thoughts to float away, until your mind is clear and unfettered.
Focus on the sentence, I am one with the universe.
(Believe the thought. It must be more than just a phrase of letters and words that appears in your thoughts. You have to understand and appreciate the idea behind the words. You need to honestly believe that you are more than the physical form sitting in that room. It is as much the belief in the idea as it is the words you see in your thoughts.)
As that sentence repeats in your mind, see yourself as one with the world.
See the bubble of separation that surrounds you explode as the spiritual you flows outward into the universe where you can meld with the All There Is.
Returning
To return to yourself, put your barrier back up.
Remind yourself of who you are by repeating your name and your address.
Tell yourself that you are [name and address].
When you can feel the air against your skin, smell the odors inside the room, or taste the saliva in your mouth, you know you have returned to yourself.
Open your eyes and be you.
However, remember how you felt when you were part of the whole world and the whole world was a part of you.
Do not let that feeling slip away.
Hold onto the lightness of it as you end your session and return to your life.
End
Using Sound to Achieve Oneness
If using sound helps you focus better on releasing your spirit from your physical form, then chant out loud, I am one with the universe.
Of course, there are other phrases or techniques that you can use. I’ve listed several of them below if you wish to try one.
The Kabbalistic Chant
The Kabbalistic chant helps you focus your thoughts in a mindful way:
Sit in a quiet room and repeat the sounds of the English language vowels: Oh, Ah, Ay, Ee, Oo. (If following the Kabbalistic technique, there are head movements that correspond to the chant. You can find them described in my award-winning book, Mastering Meditation.)
Humming Chants
Another common technique is to repeat the sound, Om or Ummm, holding the ‘m’ sound as a long-drawn-out hum. This humming sound, more than anything else is what helps focus the energies of your mind.
Other phrases that can be (and are) used include Nom Myonoh Rangie Kyo (pronounced Nom Mee-oh-noh Range-ee Kee-oh) and Om Mohni Pommee Hung (pronounced Om Moh-nee Palm-mee Hung).
Maintaining Focus on Unification
No matter what phrase or sound you use to focus your energies while meditating, keep focusing on your oneness with the universe since that is the key to transcending your Physical reality.
Using Visuals to Achieve Oneness
If sounds or chanting aren’t to your liking, you can also use visuals to help you focus. Yantras are useful in helping people maintain focus.
A Yantra is a mystical diagram, mainly from the Tantric traditions of the Indian religions. The Yantra typically has several geometric shapes radiating concentrically from the central eye
or bindu. The shapes include triangles, circles, hexagons, octagons, and symbolic lotus petals. Yantras are supposed to help you meditate by helping you hold your focus to the bindu.
Find a Yantra that appeals to you (there are many available via the Internet).
Example of a round Yantra
Example of a Lotus-shaped Yantra
While staring at the bindu in the middle, concentrate on the phrase, I am one with the universe.
Exercise 2 – Sensing Your Chakras
THE WORD CHAKRA is based on a Sanskrit word meaning spinning wheel. Chakra is a term which defines several lines meeting on a common, yet specific point. The exercises in this chapter will help you learn to sense your chakras and their energies.
A summary of the concepts behind these exercises follows. For more detailed information on the principles and science related to these exercises, read chapters 5 – Let’s Talk Chakras
and 22 – Sensing Auras
in the book, All About Auras.
To skip directly to the exercises, go to page 12, How to Sense Your Own Chakras.
Sensing Your Chakras and Their Energies
Nearly all spiritual teachers agree that the primary chakras align vertically with the spine. They also agree that while five of the primary chakras are positioned within the body, two (the crown and the root) are just outside the physical body.
A picture containing necklace Description automatically generatedA representation of the chakras and their flow through the body.
The chakras are thought to vitalize the physical body. Some teachers also associate them with a person’s physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental interactions.
The chakras are considered the loci of life energy, which is otherwise referred to as prana, shakti, qi, ki, koach-ha-guf, bios, or aether. This life force, or life energy, flows through the chakra along pathways called nadi.
Imagine a symphony breaking into its individual parts.
The life force enters the body as a single beam of energy composed of spirit, light, motion, color, music (sound), thought (idea), and creativity. As it enters the first chakra, it is split into its component parts, fueling the other chakras, and creating our subtle bodies or different layers of our aura.
Action Center (thorax)
Yellow-colored energy center that creates the etheric body (one layer of the main seven layers of the aura and the closest one to the physical body). The action center and etheric body receive the energy from the Tao, which it distributes throughout the chakras.
Creative Center (just below the sexual organs)
Brown-colored energy center that generates the creative layer of the aura. The creative center and creative layer help you manifest ideas, concepts, and children in the Physical world.
Instinctive Center (an inch or two below the body, but aligned with the spine)
Red-colored energy center creates the instinctive layer of your aura. The instinctive center and auric layer help keep you safe and contain a mini-version of your Akashic records.
Emotional Center (level with the heart)
It is a green-colored chakra that creates the emotional layer of the aura. This auric layer and chakra provide energy for your emotional health.
Interactive Center (throat)
It is an orange-colored chakra that creates the communications or interactive layer of the aura. It enables you to express yourself or communicate with others.
Mental Center (brow, between the eyes)
It is a blue-colored chakra that creates the mental layer of the aura. You use it when analyzing, thinking, or planning.
Spiritual Center (above the crown of the head)
It is a purple-colored chakra that creates the spiritual layer of the aura. This energy center is used when being altruistic or when focusing on spiritual matters.
How to Sense Your Own Chakras
When first beginning to read your own energies, I recommend using the cupped or flat palm method.
Using the palm of your hand can help you sense the different energies associated with each chakra. It’s important for you to get used to what each one feels like if you wish to align your chakras or cleanse your aura.
Tuning in to Yourself
Find a comfortable, quiet place, and close your eyes. Take deep relaxing breaths until you feel completely tranquil and at peace.
Extend your right arm and turn your right palm inward. Letting your hand hover about three inches from your body, position it equal distance between your chest and your belly button.
A picture containing person, clothing Description automatically generatedAngle your palm toward yourself
This is your primary energy center, your thoracic or action center.
Try to feel the energy of this center. Sense its power and its frequency. Note the direction of its flow—is it flowing clockwise or counterclockwise? Does it feel warm and taffy-like, or like water flowing gently in a stream?
Note everything you can about the center.
When you become comfortable identifying the traits of this center, move your hand to your base chakra. Note the traits of this chakra. Notice how the energy changed when you moved your focus to this chakra. Try to determine whether the energy is spinning faster or slower than the previous one. Also, try to determine whether it is rotating in the same direction or
