Zombie Bite (Vampire Wolf #1)

About this ebook
Twenty-three-year-old Sasha Evans wasn’t sure what happened when she raised a shotgun at her husband and pulled the trigger. As far as she could tell, he wasn’t her husband anymore. The face staring back at her was some kind of creature filled with rage, not her husband. She had to defend herself or else.
Shapeshifting warrior, Zachary Kerzek comes face to face with his destiny when an innocent bystander gets bitten by a zombie. If he doesn't do something to save her, she's as good as dead, and there's something about this girl that makes him realize he can't allow that to happen.
“We’re not killing her.” I stood between my team and this girl I had just saved from an existence worse than death. The coffee shop on Earth was demolished and we were knee-deep in dead ex-zombies. It had been a normal seek and destroy mission until this had happened. But I wasn’t backing down, not until I knew who she was, and more importantly why she had a mark on her neck, similar to mine. Maybe she was like me, or at least I was determined to find out what she was before she died.
“Call it in,” I growled to Rex.
“No,” he shouted at me. Knowing better than to mess with me, he pushed against the other two guys on my team who held him back. Zombie Wolf was not just a nickname I had gotten for being a werewolf shapeshifter who had killed massive amounts of zombies over my twenty years of my life. It was part of my blood. Literally. I could not be killed by them and I could not be infected. I had been bitten when I was a child. I had grown up with my mutation, and as I grew, the mutation fined tuned itself and merged into my DND, forever being with me.
Always the diplomat, McCormick offered, “Guys, maybe we can talk about this?”
Simon nodded, tugging on Rex’s dark green shirt. Neither of them moved forward one inch. They all had seen my transformation a time or two before, when the fighting got exceptionally nasty. I had saved all of them more times than I could count. But Rex was the asshole of my team, and the Earth representative. I regretted having made him my point of contact when I visited Earth. I had never used my weapons on any of them, but that could change very quickly.
“Call it in,” I repeated. Slowly and very deliberately, I popped my neck. My eyes flashed gold. I held one hand on the girl’s shirt, trying to keep her still.

ZOMBIE BITE
(VAMPIRE WOLF #1)
By Ally Thomas
Prologue (Sasha)
Two years ago, I’m not sure I would have believed you had you told me I’d become some kind of supernatural creature. My life was ordinary, a typical human life, and certainly nothing to write home about. Then I was bitten by a zombie, I met Zach, and my life changed forever. He saved me, quite literally. When he fused his blood with my blood, and because of my DNA and my family history, I became a vampire wolf. You may not be familiar with that term. I certainly wasn’t. I didn’t even know zombies, vampires, and werewolves existed, so I had a lot to learn about them, and about my new self. I was a product of cross-species mutation when a blood virus was introduced into the mix. And I developed powers never seen before. That happens to everyone when they are in their early 20’s, right? Yeah, not so much.
I’ll say no more about that for now. You’ll see as we get into the story, but I can say this. I thought being human was about all I could hope for in life. I wanted a normal, average existence with a good job, some friends, and a loving husband if I was lucky. That was probably true for a lot of us in 2020 when it all began. But with new developments and the mutations of a virus that finally jumped species and savaged our lands, killing hundreds of thousands, 2029 became a new decade of anything but normal. If chaos is the new normal, then that’s where we are. Looking back now, I think a lot of us can say that normal, that old normal we knew and loved, vanished when we weren’t looking. For me personally, I became something unseen before and I had no choice but to embrace my being extremely abnormal and certainly unique self. You probably know now what I mean. We all appreciate life in different ways now. But enough of my blabbing on. Grab your reading device and get ready for the bizarre. Welcome to my world.

Daytime Drama (Sasha)
2029 A.D.
Thank you for calling Intax. How may I help you?
I’m trying to take this training video, so I can complete my taxes and I can’t open anything. I don’t get it. How can you guys sell these videos if they don’t work?
I swallowed the long sigh of frustration that I wanted to share with this caller as I formulated my answer. What should my attitude be? Bubbly Minnie Mouse? Confident Karen with a hint of condescension or plain ole helpful Sasha who pretended to love her customer support job. I opted for Helpful Sasha.
Let me see if I can help you with that, sir. Can you tell me what type of device you are using to access the training videos?
Uhhh, well I’m on my phone. You know? What I’m using to talk to you now. It won’t open up.
Yes, sir. I understand. Fine, that will work. And what type of browser on your phone are you using?
The caller repeated ‘browser’ slowly as if he had no idea what that was. Oh this is going to be a long call, I thought. I could have been asking him if he had been on Jupiter when the planet aligned with Saturn recently. My heart sank. I wanted to scream at him, explain to him if he had no idea how to use his phone to view a video he might as well throw it in the trash.
Breathe, Sasha. You have to keep this job.
"Sir, let me ask you
