About this ebook
What will Dorny the Dog do?
Dorny has a mystery on his hands.
Unlike storybook detectives, Dorny doesn't really care for mysteries. Particularly when they involve his favorite (missing) hat.
Was it just misplaced, or is something more sinister going on? Are there thieves in the forest?
Dorny has no idea, and it is so frustrating.
Spend a day in the Dog Woods with Dorny and his friends. One day, one choice, two very different endings.
This illustrated chapter book is two stories in one. Choose a path for Dorny and his friends, then see where it takes you.
Will Dorny keep his cool?
You decide.

Ripples - Coe Renn
Prologue
Ten thousand stars wink and shift in the broad night sky. Sharp against the dark, they watch as the cool North Wind returns to the vast forest, spread out below. A frequent visitor, the mischievous wind whistles cheerfully, dashing here and there, getting reacquainted.
The countless trees have nowhere to hide when the winds come to call. Older trees know all about the North Wind, and pay it little attention. They doze comfortably, swaying in rhythm, while younger trees rustle nervously and grip tightly with their roots.
Under the swinging branches stands a small cabin, and beside its front door hangs a large, round hat. There is no magic in this particular hat. It doesn’t talk or grant wishes. It’s simply a sturdy, reliable hat that is worn and appreciated every day.
When it meets the wandering breeze for the first time, the hat gives a little jump. Sensing some fun to be had, the wind begins to tease its victim. Tugging this way and that, back and forth until, finally, the poor hat is pulled loose and sails away.
In a dizzy tumble, the helpless headgear hops and skips across the cabins wide front yard, disappearing into a patch of tall weeds growing around the mailbox. Down in the brush it sits, stuck fast, and out of sight.
Just before dawn, the restless wind drifts off over the horizon. Peace returns to the forest. Small birds and animals peek out from their cozy dens and nests, ready to be up and about.
All the while, hidden away, a hat waits patiently to be found.
An illustration shows: ...All the while, hidden away, a hat waits patiently to be found.Chapter 1
Blinking and drowsy, a newborn Sun peeks through the trees. Something is different in the forest this morning.
Normal woodland sounds, like chirping birds and chatty chipmunks, are nowhere to be heard. Instead, a loud thumping and bumping, a clashing and clattering, and an occasional rumbly growl echo in the stillness.
Curious, the Sun decides to take a closer look, and so rises a
