Sylvie is a quirky little snail who loves to explore. More than anything else in the world she wants to go on a big adventure. When Sylvie discovers her neighbours Ben and Kate, who live in the big stuck-to-the-ground house are going on holiday, she wants to go too! So she curls up in her shell and hides inside Ben's favourite toy truck, which he takes with him. Disneyland is amazing place for an adventurous snail to visit, except for when she gets hurled into the air on log plume ride. Luckily she lands in Ben's pocket! But this is just the beginning of her adventures. London... Paris... she gets discovered and then gets lost! The world's a big place for a little snail. Will Sylvie the adventurous snail make it safely back home again?

Chapter 1
An Adventurous Snail
Sylvie slid slowly through the orchard. Giant blades of grass sheltered her from the sun. Sylvie loved exploring under the fruit trees, especially during summer when big juicy plums fell to the ground, and lay hidden in the grass.
Next to ripen were the peaches. Plump and golden, they made Sylvie’s mouth water whenever she thought of the sweet juice bursting in her mouth, and running down her chin.

Sylvie had watched the two children, Ben and Kate, picking fruit and taking rides on their father’s shoulders to reach the ones at the top.
Their laughter echoed around the orchard, startling the blackbirds. When their basket was full, they all ate a peach, sitting on a picnic blanket under the tree.
