Manna of Life - Dr Andrew C S Koh
Foreword
Manna of Life is a unique 20-day devotional book. Each day’s devotion contains a selected scripture, then provides a commentary on the verses for us to gain a fuller knowledge of God’s Word. Applying the scripture to our daily lives is then presented in a devotional style, followed by a prayer.
The selected Scripture verses are taken from the entire Bible, covering Genesis to Revelation, providing a wonderful overview of the basic doctrines of the Christian faith. For new Believers, it will provide a strong foundation to begin building their journey, walking daily with Christ. And for mature saints, it provides an often-needed refreshment.
Just as manna provided the Israelites daily nourishment as they wandered through the wilderness for 40 years, Manna of Life will provide us spiritual nourishment as we wander through the wilderness of a lost and fallen world.

1 Soft Pillow For a Tired Heart
Romans 8:28
Romans 8:28 is one of the high points in the book of Romans. Writer and evangelist R. A. Torrey called Romans 8:28, a soft pillow for a tired heart. It is about God’s providence.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Reflection
We can unpack this verse into 4 sections.
# a. We know: God’s providential care is a certainty. You can have absolute confidence that God cares for you. Nothing can ever separate you from His love. Romans 8:38-39, For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
# b. All things: God’s providential care encompassed what things? All things! From the most trivial to the most complex. From financial, social, relationship, health, career, hobby, and whatever. From pain, fear, worry, uncertainty, insomnia, hardship, bereavement, persecution, sickness, etc, etc.
# c. Work together for good: God works together coherently and synergistically in all your life’s events to bring about a good final closure and outcome. You may not see it at that moment in time, but you will see it in retrospect. Genesis 50:20, You
