      What is intelligence?

      Most people would define intelligence as an IQ score or the ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Others would equate intelligence with skill in a particular task, such as knowing how to perform delicate surgery, repair a jet engine, or argue a case in court.

      I define intelligence as knowing the truth.

      What is truth?

      Some say there is no truth; that all truth is relative. They argue that truth is nuanced and requires a diversity of opinions, along with ample room for interpretation. People who think that way populate the halls of academia and wear their ambiguity as a badge of honor.

      I prefer the classic definition of truth: that which is true or in accordance with reality. An intelligent person in my book is one who recognizes reality and understands how the world works. More specifically, an intelligent person knows why we’re here, what our purpose is, and who in the world is either for or against that.

      Such truly intelligent people are few and far between. I estimate there are less than 10,000 of them in the entire world today and the actual number could be less than 5,000. By the time you finish reading this book, you’ll have the foundation to join them, if you choose to.

      In my case, I took an IQ test as an 18-year-old Marine recruit. I knew as I took the test that I was answering every question right; only I wanted to go Recon (an elite branch of the Marine Corps in which brawn is more important than brains). That was my whole purpose in enlisting. I knew if I scored too high on the test, they wouldn’t let me go Recon, so I began answering questions wrong on purpose. Every fourth or fifth question, I intentionally answered wrong in order to keep my score down. Even with all that, I still finished with a score of 144, the highest in three battalions.

      The Marine Corps deemed me far too intelligent to go Recon, but was I really that smart? I would say no, because at that time I had very little conception of truth. I knew right from wrong, but I didn’t know how the world worked. If I had, I would have never enlisted in the first place.

      The main reason why I had no knowledge of how the world worked was because I had never been exposed to that type of thinking. None of the adults in my life knew or understand the inner workings of the world (if they did, they never told me) and none of the books that I read—and I read a lot of books—ever addressed the issue. It certainly wasn’t taught in any school I attended.

      Later, I ended up in the movie business, an industry as far removed from the truth as possible. That led to a long period of wasted intelligence. One of my reasons for writing this book is to save you the wasted years that I went through, searching for truth, but not knowing where to look.

      Over the next few minutes, you’re going to read things that will leave you stunned, breathless, and eager for more. Reality as you know it is about to be turned upside down. Before you finish reading this book, you’ll have a strong grasp on how to discern truth from fiction in any situation, and how to use that knowledge to forecast future events. Best of all, your future predictions will always be right.

      Be advised that the road to enlightenment is a lonely one. It’s a journey you must take on your own. No one else can do it for you. And everyone who commences that journey loses friends along the way. Don’t be alarmed by that. It’s a normal reaction. People feel threatened when someone they know suddenly has a grasp on reality and they don’t. As you start to become that person, others will run away from you.
