He is the author of the international bestseller Paradise & Power and co-editor with William Kristol of Present Dangers: Crisis and Opportunity in American Foreign and Defence Policy. He is senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He lives in Brussels with his wife adn two children. Dangerous Nation was published by Atlantic Books in 2006.
