1.0 Application

The D-code-list or aperture table describes the graphic tools used

in a Gerber file. The D code-list is indispensable for the CAM
processing of the CAD data.

2.0 Gerber files

Definitions and structure: see Document Gerber [S.116].

2.1 File format

The D-code-list must be described in ASCII-format. Size units can

be indicated in inch, mil or mm.

2.2 D-code list

The D-code list must contain the assignment of all existing

D-codes of a Gerber file to a geometrical shape and to a mechanical size.

2.3 Limits

D10, ..., D999 may be assigned to tools.

D0, ..., D9 must not be assigned to tools.
The smallest sensible aperture is 0.1 mm.

2.4 Rules

2.)
3.)
4.)

3.0 Note

For generating filled areas, the largest possible D-code should be

used. A D-code with a size of 0.2 mm is recommended. The minimum size is 0.1 mm.

There must be a D-code list for each Gerber file.

Each D-code must only be assigned once.
The D-code list must not contain any macros.
The apertures must not be rotated.
