Montessori Binomial Cube Guide

The document describes a binomial cube activity to teach children algebra concepts. The activity uses wooden cubes and prisms painted in various colors that fit together to form a larger cube. The purpose is to directly build the binomial cube and indirectly prepare children for algebra. Step-by-step instructions are provided to first build the cube inside its carrying box, then take it apart and rebuild it outside the box in different configurations. Variations include splitting and reassembling the cube or building it side by side with a child. The activity is designed for children ages 31⁄2 to 4 years old.
